Extremist hindus are just paranoid because this movie exposes one of the darkest secrets of those holy upper-castes & custodians of hinduism. What a shame!! The community should introspect and look for the evil within, rather than opposing the director, who has certainly done a fine job. hypocrites...
rather then just bill it as anti religion which it is not but a progressive reformative poetic movie , with a wonderful 10 year old girl stealing the show , i hope it gets to be seen by millions also it is more effective then babul or prem rog which were more critical of the practices widows face as indians then this movie , which has been victimised for only political reasons by fundamentalists because its set in vanarasi , i wonder what hindus thought when raj kapoor made ram teri ganga meli and made a young mother dance ina brothel right on the banks of the ganges , wasnt it a social comment critical of humanrace rather then a slur on the religion as i dont know any religion which preaches evil but most human beings are evil , just look around you and look at ourselves too .

why the hell are you always targeting hindus and their good temparment. you are a muslim, shall we comment on whats happening in the muslim world ? if somewhere saddam is hanged, why do you bring disruption to a peacefull city (bangalore example). isnt that a shame for you and ur community ? name one country where shias and sunnis are given equal rights and living as equals. its India, my frnd. every religion has some drawbacks, but dont just point fingures at hindisum

if u r so progressive then learn to watch a good movie and stoputtering crap about irrelevant topics like jihad and animals ,u seem to be a muslim hater , im glad the muslims in india divided the country ,dont forget it was hindus who butchered thousands of muslims in bihar under the hindu congress govyt in 1930s leading to the calcutta riots , at least muslimsand christians only butcher animals and im not abey to u mr shastry im usman khawaja learn some english language etiquettes before coming to a forum thank you for nothing

who says thats hindus are happy about burning young widows and brides ? every living being is the same and has the complete freedom to live and enjoy life. will ISLAM give that freedom ? abey khawaja...what do you say about jehad and osama, they butcher ppl and journalists as if they mean nothing. why, all you muslims every year sacrifice soo many thousands of animals in the name of religion. is this what allah told you to do ?, i guess if your Allah is a true GOD, he will never be happy about you for hurting ppl and animals. learn compassion and then go ahead and learn your koran.

and look whos commenting about burning young widows....you guys are the best in women rights. cover them, top to bottom in lifeless black clothing. treat them as puppets and just by saying talak 3 times, you are done. you can dispose them off. is this the freedom you give to your sisters of Islam ? Thank god, ladies in hindusim enjoy better freedom :-)
