SHILPA'S FATE
by sunil nair on Jan 27, 2007 01:36 PM  | Hide replies

Any Indian who works abroad and faces problems like what Shilpa faced should be taken into account and questioned ... This happens to every Indian who works abroad...
Facts like more fame for Shilpa and the Channel is only byeproducts of such happenings...
Not only in UK Indians face such attitude but from countries like Saudi Arabia & Gulf also Indian workers face such cruel remarks..Since Shilpa is a celebrity this came into prominence...What about those innocent souls who go for work from Indian Villages to such Countries and behave in Innocent manner & faces such bullying ....

Goverment of India & media should highlight such incidents...

Sunil

A few quick questions to you my Delhiite Brother -
Only one state of India figures in the list of "10 must see destinations on planet earth" compiled by National Geographic? Which is it?
Which state was ranked the least corrupt by Transparency International-India Chapter this year (as all previous years)?
Of which state did the PM Manmohan Singh say, "The 21st century belongs to you"?
Which state of India did Dr. Amartya Sen cite as a model for development for the rest of the world?
Which Indian State's Education and health Care system did Albert Gore (before he became Vice president of the US) write about as an example for the USA to follow?
Which state is consisently noted in the Annual South Asia report by UNDP (United Nations Development Project) as matching western Europe in Human development Index?
Which state of India accounts for more foreign remittances than all other states put together?!

I am sorry to rain on your parade my North Indian Brother, but the answer to each one of these questions is not Delhi, not Bhiar, not UP nor Madhya Pradesh or Rajasthan. The correct answer is KERALA! If anything the UNDP report laments that while Kerala matches Western Europe in development indices, the BIMARU states fare worse than "Sub Saharan Africa". That is disgusting! Especially since none of you north Indians tire of screaming how smart, intelligent, hardworking and developed you are. Pathetic.

Further, please educate yourself before you go about educating the Saudis that there are other more 'educated' states than Kerala in India :). Because Keralite have the highest literacy in India. Period. Any which way you swing the truth you BIMARUs (Bihar, MP, Rajasthan, UP) will remain at the bottom of the heap!

What exactly were you smoking when you wrote your message - some dilli chaap gutter weed beedi! Did you not read in school that Kerala is the state with the hightest literacy in India - or do those schools in Delhi teach you that BIMARU states are the most educated - which in a way explains your outlook. I should know better, you are among the millions of uneducated, deceitful and prejudiced North Indians that weigh the pride and hard work of all Malyalees down with their lack of development or civic sense. Shobha De wrote in one of her books about Punjabis, "Baahar se chamak dhamak, undar se maili chaddi". She may as well have been speaking of the wide majority of North India! Illiterate and bigoted is what you are.
By the way, what exactly were you embarrassed about the Malayali labourer in the Gulf - that you go about deprecating him to a foreigner! That is so partiotic of you North Indians - belittling your own country men in the presence of an Arab - so he may think better of you! of course not, he will go and tell a fellow Arab, "These pathetic Indians, one of them was working hard, this other idiot couldnt stand it and came to me deprecating his countryman. I am sure this Indian pig thinks I will pay him a few more Riyals. What loosers these Indians are. Then they complain that we dont respect them. How can we, When these idiots dont respect their own countrymen working hard in the hot sun?"
Just so you know I am a proud Malayali that has lived / visited most regions of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Udaipur, Kolkata, Bangalore, Madras, HP, Kashmir, Northeast, Bihar, Orrisa, Daman, Punjab - including the interiors / villages. I can tell with a lot of confidence that Kerala is simply the best by many a miles! Cleanliness, Civic sense, Education, a working and most effective Panchayati Raj system in the country. I live in the US, my wife is American. I have travelled all over India with my inlaws and their friends too. Each one of them were stunned by the sheer difference they witnessed in the people, landscape, culture, lack of pollution, development - and pride in themselves - in Kerala. (Where as most people he met in India were too reverential / deferential to him, my father in Law was struck my the self respect he encountered in Kerala. "I agree the US is advanced, but if I had the facilities you people have, I would be much better off than you are. We malaylis are getting there soon", is what he consistently encountered in coversations with common malayali folk. He was so impressed with this aspect of the Malayalis - and in his own way he reasons that has much to do with the stunningly different level that Kerala is when compared to most of the rest of India. The other department where you North Indians excel in is Eve Teasging. Just go along with you sister / mother in public places as an experiment. Start from kerala and go north wards till Kashmir. Draw your own conclusions. The further north you travel, more disgusting the eve teasers. Period. Delhi is very very very bad. Kashmir is pathetic. The worst. It is a disgrace that Delhi is the capital of the world - who knows, perhaps it is just apt that Delhi is the capital of such people. Pathetic civic sense, arrogant loud mouths, disgusting pollution - it is the poster child of what is wrong with India. Infact search of "poverty in India" in Wikipedia - and lo and behold they have the picure of a family with a baby on the road side in New Delhi there! May be a coincidence, my friend, but enough for you to realize that you can go and hope to ingratiate yourself to the Arabs by badmouthing a hard working mallu who continues to work and send money home while you continue to bad mouth him behind his back. The rest of the world meanwhile has your New Delhi as the poster child of India's poverty.
(Just so you know, my north Indian friends keep asking me why I invest my time / money helping ONLY Malayli nurses from under-privileged families to join US hospitals and guide them about obtaining quick green cards - no expecting a buck in return. I have never had an answer to their query, "Why ONLY Malayalees"? Your prejudiced note about Mallus henceforth is going to be adequate reason enough. Thank you.)

Do not compare Gulf (especially Saudi) with rest of world. I stay in Gulf & have been in Saudi. I have not seen any good quality Indians coming here (include me if that is reqd. for reasoning) and even if few come, they do so for a short period. I was not aware of the vast Mallu (Keralite) population that exists in the earth before I came to Gulf. If that is what India consists of then I too hate Indians. Mallus do not have any self dignity nor any sense of their worth! All I do nowadays is going on explaining non-Indians that India is something far large & far educated than the tiny state of Kerala!!!!

Mr.Nameless, There is a long list of Mallu's that have made it big in India. I don't want to argue anymore with you, dear worthless guy, and practitioner of pure racism.

Anyway "if you find time after finishing your current commitments, I invite you to come to Kerala and experience it's healing nature"

And don't forget to get the hell out of there after the healing is done!!!

Tht was wonderful sethu...Malayalis have many faults,i do agree, like their marxist leanings make developments a big hurdle...when the neighbouring states bag all the big projects,,,for tht we have the mallu politicians to blame..but culturally,we malayalis r far ahead of the north indians......they r arrogant(still trying to decipher for wat),rude and gross...while keralites r gentle and as Mr.Sethu pointed out, with a strong core of self estemm which doesnt border on arrogance.....

he he...u educated....check yr English language!!! Anyway I do not need to waste more tine in discussing mallu-ism. But thought to clarify that no one can be jealous of mallus in Gulf as they are the worst paid Indians! Infact when I took up my first job here, a mallu colleague who was frustrated at my salary quit his job to take up another job in Africa!!! The reason is he wanted to earn as much as I did & for that had to go to Africa. Such is the state of mallus in Gulf.
Lage raho coconut farmers!!!!!
(Someone wanted to know which state I belong to, I am from the capital of India, a place unknown to mallus)

Guys guys guys......what a ridiculous argument. Whatever this good fellas name is, the one from my state of Delhi, should know that if some semi literate Keralites DO go to Arabia and do menial jobs, they are not atleast killing people. Something that a huge number of Haryanvis & Uttar Pradesis do as a profession. I would rate them much higher than our very own North Indian Idiots. I would even rate Biharis much higher than people from UP & Haryana as they atleast travel far & wide in search of honest jobs. And dont forget that Keralites are gentle people with a sense of entrepreneurship as well. Go to Kerala and see their tourism industry. You will see what I mean.
