Salam-E-Ishq was terrible!! I agree w/ Sukayna that the director did a poor job trying to balance the 6 stories. It was very choppy, some parts were beautiful and others were very confusing. Sohail Khan and Isha Koppikar's (2 of my most favorite actors) short appearances were not very amusing in the movie either. This film has an excellent cast but overall it was poorly written and directed. I really enjoy the songs though. In fact I heard the songs first, fell in love w/ them and was excited to see the movie. But I must say I was really disappointed since I was expecting a more catchy/suspenseful/interesting kind of story. Like I said excellent cast, but not an excellent movie.
This movie was not too good. I mean there were like a million stories in there you couldn't really stay in touch with all of them. All the stories that were presented in this movie were all very boring espessial the one with Anil kapoor. The songs thought are on average, they are not too bad.
I had a chance to watch this and I must admit. It really questions your intelligence as a person. Where is bollywood heading? *I-dont-really-care smile* I thought every one was over the top when it came to acting with Salman topping the list. Karan Johar's name in every scene - I mean do people really want to act in his movie. This movie itself says DONT .. its better to do anything else BUT be in his movie.. Irony :) .. Every other scene if not all were badly directed. I guess its not worth even writing this.
Salmaan Khan's fake accent really sucked.I have no idea what happened to his acting abilities post "Pyar kiya to ...1998". He looks fake & artificial in Salaam-e-ishq & his performance alongwith that of Priyanka Chopra grates on your nerves! The only saving grace are Vidya Balan, Juhi Chawla and Govinda. The film is crap.!
The first half of the movie is hopeless. The directors could have make this movie very interesting but i think he was in mood to make the ending bit impressive so that atlast people say that yes we got the paisa vasool. only last 1 hour movie will make u feel involved in the movie, and i think thats the part of the movie. Rather than watching movies for approx 3 and half hours , if u see movies for last one hour, even then u can understand the movie well and do mind that u will enjoy it fully
Similar to most of my friends below after reading a lot of reviews i went and watched the movie on saturday .. it is a good entertainer ,,, i dont know why the hell are people hell bent on bringing this movie down... dont know some conspiracy maybe ,, i loved akshay ... he s great and then there is john ... good scenes together .. songs really sound much better after watching the movie ...
though a bit long but definatly a must watch coz there arent any movies around this weekend .. atleast it makes one laugh and come out with a good feeling .. i think thats imp ..

For god sake kick this guy out of Rediff.com. This is a cool movie and must watch. Full of pure entertainment and fun. Dont listen to what the reviewer is bluffing around. Watch it guys.

you are nuts the reviewer is perfectly correct jus coz u dont watch enuf gud movies (esp a brilliant ORIGINAL movie lik LOVE ACTUALLY...the film doesnt need a reason to watch but SINCE 14TH FEB IS NEAR u evn hav a gud reason)the film is such a cheap copy of LOVE ACTUALLY tht it cudnt get any worse PLZ GO WATCH LOVE ACTUALLY rent it or buy it it vl b money well spent....one of the most stupid copy evr produced in India.
