It's really a new experince because of the main brain of ranjith who had written several thattupolippan movies in malayalam. I would like to congratulate both ranjith and writer ambikasuthan mangad. I hope that all malayalees should have seen this movie. This movie proclaiming the responsibility of art workers to society and community. Staaaaars are committed to the society and they can make at least a small feather feeling to the viewers.Mr ranjith and mangad keep it up always. This is the movie that the time need. Hey viewers all of u should see this movie and compell others to see this movie

What after the
by Maheshwaran Irulappan on Jan 22, 2007 07:29 PM

Unfortunately malayalees (read as directors & scriptwriters) didn't want to groom the new talents who can carry good movies after the M's. Only talented young turk is Prithviraj but he seems to be blacklisted by top directors & scriptwriters. See where the other young "stars" like Kunchacko Boban, Jayasurya, Vineeth and Suni are?

On other hand scriptwriters seem to be kind with female stars that we have 'immensely talented' Meera Jasmine, Kavya Madhavan, Padmapriya and upcoming Bhavana..

What makes an Indian movie suscessful in India?
by sarat sankar on Jan 22, 2007 11:29 AM

Hey....It seems a good mallu movie to watch with a nice story....i guess keralites like story led movies....rather than the comedy or choclate hero(ine)led movies which is not so realistic in practical life....on the other hand hindi audience like soft romantic song led movies, which potrays deep human relationships....after all everybody knows that movies are movies, but closer to reality surely touches the audience....or it has to be pure fictional, where the audience know that it's fiction, but here the catch is that of techinical excellence, which comes at a superior cost which only Hollywood can afford to have....so i guess the bottomline framework for Indian movies is 'tell a good story in a realistic and colorful way' so as to touch the audience, add some flavor over that so as to younger eyes too!....cheerz sarat

Buddy,

I pity your ignorance. Have you EVER seen a Mohanlal movie? Also your choice of words betrays your culture and upbringing, whoever and whereever you are...

Acting has nothing to do with being cute and having handsome features...it has everything to do with getting to know the character and portraying it subtly...Mohanlal does this and the other 'actors' don't!

this is ranjit style
by jayakrishnan m on Jan 22, 2007 11:11 AM

You said kayyoppu is "marked departure from the typical Ranjith style of filmmaking". have you forgot "Nandanam"? Ranjith is a class director who can write and direct different genre of films, let it be family story or action.
