retreat...
by on Jan 21, 2007 02:14 AM

That certain cultures don't give much importance to human decency is well known. None of the participants of the show seem to be too bright anyway. Looks like by offering to make up after being insulted left and right, Shilpa is asking for more. Next time she should try something more original than resorting to Bollywood antiques and retreating. The Brits should stick to blood pudding, spotted dick and other local delicacies ( hospital waste ? ).

Marketing gimic of the modern world??
by joy srivastava on Jan 21, 2007 01:30 AM

I am asking all the people who have taken BB so seriously...this is a pure example of modern marketing stunt to gain popularity in the age of satelite tv and create a rift between people who have no defined values of raceism or sportsmanship.

Lets correct ourself before pointing at someone, when you see north east state, eastern state people you call them way you like, treat them the way you like, caste system, south indians are ugly madarshis and no end to the list, this incident is exactly same as when a south Indian goes to Bolloywood he gets bullied and thrown out , no big deal if it happens to an India India but you make big hoo and cry for the stupid show.

Hmm....a good thought....I bet you would react in same way if an outsider says something to you as you would with you wife!!!! If you think you are very rational think twice!!! look in yourselves & you will realise that you react differently when you interact with different people.

Beauty and the Beast

This is a simple thing to comprehend, Shilpa is Good and beautiful, Goody is bad and ugly, hence she mouthed the way she did. I understand she wouldn't have intended to hurt shilpa with racist comments, but she did mouth words which were racial. She's evicted now. No mercy for ignorance.

adorablre and admirable shilpa, amitab and rani take a bow to her
by usman khawaja on Jan 20, 2007 10:50 PM

i always respected her more then ash and ranis after i saw her in phir milenge a totally darind challenge and shes again risen to the ocassion , aoman like her can make money in a million ways , i guess you know it better but she chose to present the indian sub contint in a totally freaky show instead of doing a lucrative side trip to dubai like the so called superstars . i find it really irritating when i see miss rani expressing her opinion in someone whgos doing something better then her in very adverse conditions .thank you shilpa , u r areal superstar like amir khan is in the male category.

The problem is harmony

I can't believe people on this forum are maligning Shilpa saying she did it for money! Money makes the world go round. And yes she did go on the show for money.

But the way she conducted herself was admirable. You critics have not EVEN seen the show. I have been following from day one. Shilpa has been extremely dignified, spoken really well, wore Indian clothes on the show and come up trumps. She did not drink on the show, did not speak about sx did not go into the hot tub...nothng. She was just class personified.

She has give an EXTREMELY positive account of herself and Indian women and the public in the UK are on her side 100%. I am sure fellow Bollywood personalities and actresses will be jealous and try and put her down.

If you look closely I agree Shilpa has not had many hits but in terms of acting (eg Phir Milenge) but she is a far better actress then those on the top - especially "actresses" like Aishwarya Rai.

So come on Indians stop being so cynical and give Shilpa the praise and attention she rightly deserves.

Hope you read this "According to sources, a 90-minute talk with Shetty, executives manipulated her into saying she did not feel the victim of racism. They then compelled Goody to apologise to her." written in this article.

More posh way of saying.. that she is convinced. But how? Money Money Money

Hey Vijay,
I think she was "convinced" because most of those horrid comments and nasty things were said to Shilpa BEHIND HER BACK.

We will only know when Shilpa gets evicted and sees the clips of the comments made behind her back as to what she really thinks. When Shilpa was "manipulated" Big Brother did not show her the offensive comments - Shilpa was referring to the row that erupted. She did not see The "f*** off home comment" the "people in India eat with their hands" She will be shown these clips once she leaves.

What you said above is mere speculation and even if it happened as I said Shilpa was unaware of the comments made behind her back.

Lets see...
