Guru a director's film
by on Jan 17, 2007 01:42 PM

the lead characters have performed exceptionally well.photography and music are spectacular.unclearly told climax and poor screen play make guru an average manirathnam film.

who is she ??
by Raam Kothiyal on Jan 17, 2007 12:57 PM  | Hide replies

Interestingly, only 3 months ago Abhiwarya faced a disastrous flop with J P Dutta's Umrao Jaan.
question for editor: who is abhiwarya, this is more than a spelling mistake.

They both have different existance in bollywood.
I feel pity for the people who adopt things very easily.

A Good Different Movie
by sohan banerjee on Jan 17, 2007 12:14 PM

At last Abhishek proved that he can act a film to glory "single handedly".Coz my feel was that the support crew has done pretty ordinery things.
Well Done Abhishek...I am slowly becoming your FAN....thats a good sign coz in Bollywood, I liked only Sanjay Dutt and 'Comedian' Akshay kumar

Guru a landmark for Abhishek
by Mahesh Kamat on Jan 17, 2007 12:00 PM  | Hide replies

Guru is a good film and Abhishek has done very well in it. Everybody seems to compare him to his father and only then judge him. I feel that is unfair. We have to give Abhishek more time and years to reach close to the level of his father. His preformance in Guru is by far the best so far by him. Best actor award material. The shades of grey which he displays in his character are done well. Mani Ratram has defined the character very well. It was a real treat to watch Mithun the icon, an actor par excellence and I am sure many would like to see more of him in future films. Ash was good, really into the character she played, much better than in Dhoom2. Hats off to the director for bringing such performances in the film.

GURU its much hype and advt in disguise
by sreekumar k on Jan 17, 2007 11:32 AM

Compared to Yuva it may be better but compared to Alai payuthe,Nayakan, Roja GURU is poor, esply its a biographical with no story to say about, in the end it tries to justify corrupt ways of Ambani. Does anyone agree their ways to promote Reliance mobile by tying up BSNL using a corrupt minister good or just for the country?
I dont think anyone will agree.

As film is concerned, it will not be a hit, as there is no masala, great songs, villain, climax in it. Media is trying to make GURU a hit by Aish,Abhishek marriage news etc etc ,but it wont be much success. Even this rediff poll, messages are all part if publicity I believe.

Anyway after seeing movie all will agree that its high time Aish to get married as lot of wringles on her face can be seen in close ups.
Wish them happy married life
