Another rediff message breaking journalistic ethics
by Governor General on Jan 23, 2007 05:33 PM

Another wrong message by rediff.
Another wrong title.
Do you all guys think the author doesn't know that this is not the first digital movie?
He clearly knows that but he wants to create a controversy here and provoke people to talk about his message. So he is conveniently breaking the journalistic ethics.
Rediff journalists want cheap publicity and so they create stupid controversies.

Malayalam cinema went digital long ago and so it should say bollywood and not india
by anuj nair on Jan 22, 2007 07:46 PM

Malayalam cinema has had plenty of films shot and exhibited in digital in the last couple of years. To name one... Moonamathoral was Jairam film which was shot on digital and exhibited in digital.Infact more movies in kerala are now going digital. So It is highly irresponsible of rediff to not clarify their reports. Rather than take advantage of the message board to garner more clicks this report must be corrected so that people like me feel that it was worth reporting these mistakes.

Hey Dude,

Lets not start the ol' argument for god's sake.

Every one knows which movies are more realastics and genuine. Please face the reality; please check all the Rajnikant & Chiranjeevi Movies as a mirror of how south Indian movies work.

Digital versus film projection
by Rakesh on Jan 14, 2007 10:58 AM

Before your arguements becoming self-righteous, let me tell you this. Digital screens are not entirely better than conventional film projection. A digital screen usually has about 2048 or 4096 horizontal pixel resolution while compared to 20 million pixels on a good quality film. Also because it is an analog, its has better colour reproduction than digital which is tied down to 256 grayscale or 16 million colours.

Also maybe stop arguing if South is better or North, start improving your roads, buildings and education, corruption and stop shitting by railway tracks.

Get off the internet, it belongs to the First World.

by Mohan Subbu on Jan 13, 2007 05:42 AM  | Hide replies

Title should say Bollywood goes Digital and you should be aware that just Bollwood is not indian cinema. Technologies used in southern cinema is always better and more advanced than Bollywood.

It's not about use of new technology...but for what we use it. Atleast we don't use technology for stupid scenes where a south indian fatty hero fights alone with millions of skinny willians. Ha Ha Ha...Dude there will a time when south indian films will come up ..may be 10-15 years from now.....

DEar Shashi Kumar,

It is clear that you think you are smart. But, son, you should get your facts right before going public about your smartness.
As Tarun Singh has rightly pointed out, Mumbai Express was only shot digitally, never screened.
Besides, I find it nauseating that you referred to Kamal Hassan as great. I dont think moviedom has ever seen a more hyped actor in its years of existence.
Cheers, Suneet

Dear Sunnet,

go through the messages in this board before showing ur smartness. MUMBAI EXPRESS was digital shot and screened in CHENNAI and BANGLORE as said by another messanger.

Finally the title should not be India goes digital way but BOLLYWOOD.. there is many more state and movie industry in INDIAN CINEMA ..kindly do no foregt it and dont try to foregt it and pretend as though these industries are non EXISTENCE for WEBSITE run by a majority MUMBAI journalist just like RAJA SEN and Syed Firdaus...i wan to know whether both of them are same person ? Change the mistake in the title !
