Even if she was not wearing skin coloured dress
by Vinayak Patil on Jan 11, 2007 03:41 AM

Even if she was not wearing skin coloured dress, main parts of her body are still covered. Its so common in the world to have such dances. Mr. Jain is doing everything just for the publicity same as news channels did. If you don't like change channels. If you dont like dont bother to see the movies.

Great Message Board

Whenever I get too tired with documentation I switch to these message boards; real funny this one.
A man sue-ing Mallika for a skin-dress act, TV channels beaming that for selective manoranjan, the man does not turn off the TV and since he is so obsessed with New Channels when he is awake that he cannot change it to a sports channel and make his children happy for a moment; AND then a smart inspector asks him to buzz off - all ingredients of a great movie. Finally, ahem! rediff journalist prints something which lures so many people to make comments and most of them some real Oscar winners - I personally like the Jaadu Ki Jhappi to Jain comment and also to the guy who asks Jain to read newspapers on Jan 1st to avoid these. Great stuff!! Lage Raho Rediff... Please publish an article on Shilpa's acts on Big Brother - let's see what folks say.

I would agree to both the parties and i think what Mr Jain is saying is right but upto an extent but that does not mean that he should sue Mallika.
Actually if the news channels and other channels for that matter can issue a 1-2 sec warning / Rating of the contnet before showing something which contains Nudity / Adult content that should solve the issue but if you talk about this performance than i would definitly support Mallika as people were not agitated in the marriot after seeing her performance and that was not to be televised through all the channels in the first place.

but would like to put a bigger issue in front of the Brodcasting industry for showing the content ratings befor showing the content.

Mr. Jain is talking about this show what about the growing gross music video's with remix songs and nude grls.

If you are taking an ownership of policing that do it the right way donot act cheap.

Thanks

Why Mallika?
by Sudha R on Jan 11, 2007 12:25 AM

Mallika is a film star and these kind of dance routines are usual for her.
The real culprits are the news channels, they need to censor what they show on tv, send letters of objection to Television channels for showing such private shows on public television.

You are talking crap... Who are you? Some handsome looking, to-die-for man?? What rights do you have to call someone with words like "bald, ugly, loser"??? We would like to see you picture. But anyways we do not care how you look... that does not matter to people like me. It is what you are and what you stand for that really matters.

She might be your dream, but can not be and will not be EVERY man's dream. You just talk about yourself and do not claim to know every man's dreams. She is a girl who is a just a bit above call-girls as she is not selling her body directly, but she is still selling her body through pics and movies. And men like you who like her and attack Mr Jain belong to that class only.....

I wouldn't mind you admiring and dreaming about her, but I did not like you calling names to Mr Jain. That is not acceptable.

I am with you

I support you in this even if you are doing it for publicity (which I do not think is the case here). Mallika or any such girl and organisers of this event (or any such group), can do what ever they want in private or in movies, but on TV it is not done. We already have too much nidity around us on TV and having news full of that does not leave any more room for anything else.

BTW: You should not have spared TV channels for repeatedly showing the footage. They should have just read news, and there was no need to show the pics/clips.

Mr Jain,

Being a family man myself, I totally understand what you might have gone through. I also like to see news and sometimes news items like this do cause very uncomfortable situation. And hats off to you for making an attempt.

And for all those who are bashing Mr Jain, following are points that I would like to make:
1. Skin colored dress or not, this was designed to make a viewer feel like she is not wearing anything (otherwise, why skin colored dress). And that itself is very close to nudity. Please make an attempt to see this from small children's point of view.
2. As far as Mr Jain choosing this girl for filing a complaint and not a cop or politician etc... At least he is filing a complaint against something that he does not like and does not want to tolerate.. What have you (who are whining like this) have done? Have you ever taken a step towards such things that you do not like????
3. There is a limit for such things as nudity, though I would not like that to be crossed on movies, but then you can be selective about which movie to watch and which ones to ignore. If such an incidence is shown on TV news channels, then it is difficult to avoid.
4. And yes, on the topic of news channels, I do feel that they did not have to show the actual footage (and keep repeating it). That was cheap media trick. So, I would blame them also.
5. Finally there should be some limit on what can be shown on a medium that has direct reach in our "family" room%u2026 Ahhh yes that word "family" again. It is all about family.. There are certain things that you do not want to see/be part of when you are with "family". Now if you guys want to call it hypocrisy or give it any such name, then be it, I do not care. I might enjoy a hot scene or a bloody fight (on movie/TV) when I am not with my "family" (read my very young kids), but I would not do that in front of them (and expose them to something that they should not be at such a young age)%u2026. That is just common sense and not hypocrisy.

Once again%u2026 YOU GO Mr JAIN%u2026.

~A family man and a Father

Doesn't matter what it was meant for. It is perfectly clear from the dumb snaps that she is feaking wearing a dress covering her body. It is clear that he wants publicity.

this guys nuts!!!
by rukku on Jan 10, 2007 10:23 PM

this guy is total nuts and has gone insane. so he means to say tht he has never seen nething obscene on tv or som news channel, does he? whether it be MTV, Channel V, ne news channel or even FTV, lots of 'so called obscene' reports are shown everyday. say NDTV or Aaj Tak for example does show reports of fashion shows n all every now and then. has he ever sued ne of the models as yet? there are 1000's of atrocious crimes ranging from dacoity to rape going on in our country which are reported daily by every single news channel. does he sue/has he sued ne of the accused who run free after the initial hungama? i bet he has never ever. he is behind cheap publicity and fame that comes free through the media. n again it is d media which gives him what he wants, by projecting such issues. these kind of guys shud just b ignored n given d least importance by Asvin
