Why so much communal comments?
by Dhanya Chittilangat on Feb 01, 2007 10:04 PM  | Hide replies

This blog shows the effect of mixing up religion in social life...... Here the discussion was meant to be of a good film & I see only rare comments about the film and more about communal rights & wrongs!!!!! Leave it back all of u.... Speak like Indians, not Hindus or Muslims! Then there wont be need for more films like this.......

Communal Movies should not be made
by Animesh Naskar on Feb 01, 2007 09:38 PM  | Hide replies

Communal riots are bad.. Very very bad. But we need to forget it and move on. We should not make movies and cry on the our own mistakes committed long back.
Consider this, so many movies have been made regarding this issue, has communal riots stopped?

well researched movies on communal politics & riots shud be made so that ppl can understand the evil designs of todays politicians...whether it makes a difference or not..whether it stops communal hatred or not...at least it will educate ppl & make them aware of facts...of evil.

You are right, communal riots have not stopped. Thats because everytime it happens, we get the bhaashan "forget it and move on". Once we decide enough is enough and show the obvious perpatrators the consequences of killing 1000s of hindus, then there will be an end to the riots. Until then weep indians weep

So much of hatred??????
by BIJESH JACOB on Feb 01, 2007 07:13 PM  | Hide replies

We have had so many communal wars in the past but studying history, India was moving on to a more communally stable, peaceful country in the recent past, thanks to the diplomatic CBMs and peace talks between the two countries. But looking at this blog, I think we are still far far away from stable. There is still a fuming fire in each person's mind: whatever his religion is.
Once we Indians had a flair for independence from British Raj and there were a lot of instruments that brought the infinitesimally distributed Indians close. One of it was Newspaper and the language English. Now that we have achieved this feat, the brothers have restarted infighting. There was a lot of infighting before independence but I should consider that it reduced after the partition and division of the common motherland. Now this negative cause of infighting has gained so much a momentum that all it wants to fire is a media to unite each other's similar thinking comrades. I think these kinds of public blogs are playing a great role for this negative cause. Who knows, fifty years hence, our grand children(if they manage to be alive) studying history would study that technology was the major drive that united people for infighting that subsequently led to ????? Is it a total anarchy? Is it partition again on the existing motherland? Is it arson, looting, rapes and what else??
Brothers of India, remember, the main, ultimate and only goal of any religion is to enable the follower to lead a peaceful life. To have peace we should love our fellow beings. Hindus, Do you think if all Muslims in the world die, you will have peace? You yourselves can see the infighting in your brand between your own brothers in the name of cast and creed. What was untouchability? Muslims, Do you on the other hand think you will be peaceful if all Hindus gets wiped out? Never!! Think of what is happening in Iraq or Pakistan. So much of infighting between your own brothers. Christians also the very same. Even as a small small minority in India, and still a minority in the most christian populated state of Kerala, infighting took the lives of 5 people and tensions for years!!!
Why is this happening? Definitely your religion wont ask you to fight. It is only the your weakness, your human weakness in interpreting the books that has led to this. The problem is internal. inside your heart.. How much do you love your neighbor, your parents or your spouse? Definitely, these fighters are fighting for their own self. The ugly virtues that they created in their mind because of the senseless interpretation of their books. Every action out of this is out of a frustration to prove that their virtue is right. Even with their own life!!!
So this is my message to all. Look into your own heart.. start loving yourselves.. love your children.. your parents, your neighbour... if you really love them, definitely your would look for a virtue that would sustain peace in this ever peace loving country of ours. Let the foul seeds be thrown out of your heart. Let us use this technology for our good. the good of the generations
