If you really think Kannada on top, why do not you let other language films release with same day as per their schedule and not in restricted nos? You are afraid of Tamil and Hindi cinema.

But you are telling yourself that your filmdom is good. Funny. This is the problem of South Indians.

by chandra n on Jan 02, 2008 04:49 PM  | Hide replies

1)In south films they use there local language in there films(Telugu or Tamil or Kannada or malayalam). But in North films they use urdu in there films.
2)In south they have classics like Tyagayya,Baktapothana,Veerapandya kadga bomanna etc.In North they have classics like Magual-E- etc..

well if u look at the facts, there are many actress who were south indian or were first introduced in south or worked with the regional industry.let me quote a few examples,
1)Sridevi
2)Hema Malini,
3)Aish,
4)Sush,
5)Waheda Rehman,
6)JayaPrada.
7)Katrina Kaif.

cuming to directors,
1)RGV,
2)Priyadarshan,
3)ManiRatnam
4)K.Vishwanath
Music directors:
1)Bappi Lahri(worked)
2)MM Keeravani(MM Kreem of Paheli fame)
3)Illayaraja
4)AR Rehman

why do u discriminate the industry with just a language barrier?afterall most of todays hindi movies are remakes from either hollywood or regional movies!

we can talk high of the industry, when we can generate original scripts and bring them to the audience!

when the technicians are able to work without any problem, why do u have them?

the base of hindi speaking people in this world is huge when compared to regional languages. So regional languages films cant spend as heavy as bollywood movies to recover the cost. In most of the bollywood movies nowadays story, script r of less important only glam quotient & extorbitant spending alone comes, while regional movies too catching with this bad habit. Many of the superb regional movies get unnoticed to our audience but fetch international awards(eg. ore kadal in malayalam etc etc etc). One more thing is tat the IFFA(Indian Filmfare) that can b renamed as BIFFA(Bollywood Indian) bcoz all regional movies r forgotten. I think regional movies should be given equal preference as bollywood so tat Indian Film Industry wil b the final winner and show the class of Indian Cinema to the world.
