he will be remembered till the movies played in india, sholay has become benchmark and every new moview want to touch that level, but no body would touch that legend. great visioner, thanks for giving hindi cinema such a fantastic movie mr. sippy, may your soul rest in peace.

I pay my tribute to him and I want to tell one thing to all the reader of rediff that U are distribute all the india movies in three parts
1. Before Sholay
2. Sholay
3. After sholay
So,it is himself a movie which can not make again and there is no hindi movie around it till date and hope that in near future also no movie will be live as sholay till date......

I also agree with you. If a choice is given to watch out OSO and Sholey for second time I am sure choice for Sholey is more than 100%.

In those days everbody was very much crazy about this movie,then i was a small child & i remember ,every day when my father was returning from his office,i was asking him that if he had got tickets of this movie?
Tkts.were rare ,there was mad rush outside Golcha cinema in delhi(of course every where this movie was being screened).
This is a Great Great movie,salute to every member of the movie team.

bhayya, maito sholay barah baar dekh chuka hoon aur phir kabhi moka mile toh aur kayee baar dekhoonga bhi. kamlesh babu, aap ne sahi bola, sholay jaisa fillum na kabhi aayee thi aur na kabhi aayegi.

I agree with you. He was such a director whose work speaks a lot. Even a few years ago his AATISH was released and what a beautiful Action Film he has made, wonderful. Na Bhooto Na Bhavishyati. My sincere salute to you.

In the death of Mr.G.P.Sippy, the World Cinema has lost a true genius.Just as we talk of our Kohinoor Diamond, generations of Indians can always cherish the greatest diamond he has left behind for us in the form of Sholay. While there were other good films he directed and produced, Sholay stands out for its technical excellence. As long as the world exists, Sippy Saab will be remembered for his Sholay. May his soul rest in peace.

Mr G.P. Sippy might have left us but his movie Sholay will never die. It is only his physical demise but he will remain in the hearts of every movie loving Indian as long as Indian cinema exists. May his soul rest in peace. I thank him for giving us so much joy with his movies.

Sholay is a Magnum Opus in the Indian cinema. ther can not be another one like that.
