Is this swiss watch range funded by Amar singh and his 40 thieves gang? Otherwise I don't think she has got that fame now..
Where is the Mangalshuthra and the Tikka in the forehead. As a married woman she is suppose to wear Mangalshuthra and the Tikka. Is this lady is an indian women or a foreigner. She is also one of the curse of our indian society.

I dont agree with you Saagar. You see it happening all around the world that the culture of all the countries are becoming more and more similar and that is bound to happen with all this mixing and interdependence of the countries on each other. It's not just India whose culture is changing but it's everyone else as well. America iself is a huge mix of cultures from all over the world. If you think India will retain its culture from 200 years ago, it can't happen. None of the countries has kept their cultures intact and those who want to then they can't survive. There has to be a balance between keeping our own cultural practices (I would say only the good ones) and also being more global and international in our perspective and outlook...

finally someone who comes up with a valid point and makes a case....excellent point vineet.....but here is where it gets interesting.....mankind needs culture, so one or the other culture will definitely survive because we need something to call tradition and pass it on to our kids, the sad part is, modern definition of culture (especially for all the Indians who are posting messages and middle class) is American culture.....it starts with throwing away our clothes, then the mangalsutra, then we stop visiting places of worship, it finally moves to what I see here in the US and Canada, teenage pregnancies, Indian kids born with no idea of their roots and no idea how to say namaste or venekam or salam....girls throwing away the hejab, guys looking for pre-marital sex all the time....its call corruption.....it is all around you....its called modernization

samrat...dude u watch too many bad tamil/hindi movies where mangalsutra/maang mein sindoor etc ruled the roost..i think that was in the 80s...and Jitendra and Mithun have stopped doing such roles for a long long time now..Get a life.

samrat, your point was very interesting I had to agree, I have lived all my life in the west, I have seen Indians and India from a totally different angle, I chose to be a mix, I grew up studying my culture and respecting it, and point after point, I saw my friends leaving it and making fun of it. Today they are running, searching for something in this new culture of theirs, they cant speak their native languages, they dont attend their places of worship, they have pre-marital sex, booze and do all those "modern things", and sadly it all started a generation ago with throwing away the mangalsutra and refusing to wear Indian, respect Indian and adore it, sometimes I wish I could fast forward time to the year 2200 and come to rediff and see how the Indian has changed :) I bet there will be no more samrats left sadly

Saagar Bhatia, atleast you agree, thanks. Guis who disagree with Mangalshuthra and Tikka - Westernization does'nt mean that to sell, change or forget culture. Culture shapes a person to lead a life in a better way which in turn the entire community, state and the country. See America, the country without a culture where it goes? May be it is a developed country, but there is no FAMILY, no FAMILY GATHERINGS, no family CHATS, no FAMILY FUNCTIONS nothing, its completly mechanical life. A lot more to say....

Well Samrat, before poitning a finger at others why dont you look at yourslef first. Do you wear Pajama/ Kurta /dhoti? I bet you dont do so .What indian culture you follow that you are blaming others? Wearing a mangalsutra/tikka/sindoor are personal chocies. since when did we indians become so close minded that we cant respect a person's personal choices? And why are you pointing at american society? What about the faults that our indian society have? My friend, all it matters is whether you are a good human being or not and what have you contributed to the society you are born into. Seems like you are preaching intolerance, nothing else. Keep your mind open, you ll be peaceful!!

Which age are you living in? These days lots of women dont wea that stuff...that doesn't mean they are not Indian! Even you wear shirt and trouser, is that indian? you should instead always wear kurta and dhoti in that case...
