"This film is a remix of a lot of tales and cinematic tropes already familiar to the viewers of blockbuster cinema. Part 28 Days Later, part Cast Away, part post-apocalyptic saga and part monster flick"
You numb nut..this film is based on a novel written by Richard Matheson with the same name in 1954..the novel actually gave birth to the trend of so called Zombie films when George Romero inspired the "end of the world because of flash eating infected people" plot device in Night of the Living Dead..besides the book "i am Legend" has already been made into a movie ..twice.. The Last Man on Earth and Omega Man..so you claim that its part CastAway and part 28 Days later just goes on to show you level of ignorance as the book "i am legend" was written much before Castaway or 28 Days Later got made..also you should be ashamed of calling your self a critique when you dont even mention that the film was a adaptation of a book..which should be the first thing you should highlight ..

nicely summed up. for someone who hasnt really worked on his critique, i guess he owes an explanation or admit he's wrong.

Boomshine,
You are missing the point. Elvis was the one "pointing out some flaw" in the film. And he was way off the mark. It helps if all of us do some basic research and homework before passing judgment. I think, Chetan makes a valid point: Elvis is a numb nut to compare this film to make movies that were based on the original novel.

since we are discussing the flaws in the review..here is one more interesting thing he says..initially he calls the film with Vampires and later he calls it a Monster flick.. those are completely two different genere..Vampire flicks are the likes of Dracula, Interview with a Vampire, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Blade,Final Contact, Underworld, 30 Days of Night etc..Monster Flicks are Jurrasic Park, Godzilla, Host, Kingkong,Jeepers Creepers Etc i think Mr.Elvis Really Really Need to read of genres first and then write ..another pointer to his ignorance

he is to a b-grade horror flick 1408 on other screen in the same multiplex and came out with some praises for that boring film.....
Ok you told me the story to the minutest detail! But where is the review? Are you under the assumption that watching the movie, telling the story with few jargons and giving it a sprinkling of stars is what a review is all about?
I'll bet none of the rediff reviewers even know the different stages of movie production!
