It is a cycle
by R Chitra on Jan 22, 2008 05:18 PM

Reality shows are catching up in Tamil TV world also. It is a cycle. We will have to wait for a while before the reality shows peter out and serials are back in fashion. But mind you reality shows are here to stay.

Yes I too feel the same, that these shows are preplanned and a big fake but still they are glued to the set like no other. I explain to everyone that it is staged as the WWF but no one believes ahahahahahaah. Anyway thank God to see some here really believe that they are fake.

As for me I dont know abt the other shows but i do watch Nach Baliye at times and i find it fake i can easily predict which couple will be eliminated. Maybe votes are considered but the likes and dislikes of the judges is also there. Like everyone knows the relationship of govinda and david dhawan so govindas neice krushna is bound to reach the finals

SMS VOTING
by on Dec 11, 2007 04:35 PM

Using SMS voting to decide a winner is certainly a farce. If at all public voting is to be given a weightage it should be as low as 10%. 90% rating should come from the judges .Otherwise these competitions will turn out to be political game shows & real talent will not be recognised.

SMS voting is a farce
by Madhusudhan N.R. on Dec 11, 2007 04:21 PM  | Hide replies

Especially when the finalists and the winners are decided by vote, it is a big farce. Talent cannot be judged by numbers but by quality. The judge should know about music (bhava, raga, tala and the lyrics of the songs) if its a singing competition like Indian idol or Voice of India. How many of the populace know about music and how many care to vote? Its all a gimmick by the telecom company and the organizers of the show. A case to point was Indian idol, where the Nepali guy won on weight of votes, whereas there were at least five others who were better than him. People will wise up soon and these things will die a natural death.

It's all about making money. Do you think votes are cast on talents ? It's always the 'son of the soil' who wins. We divide ourselves on caste and regionalism.

It is high time some norms are set while allowing such shows.

As far as 'Nach Baliye' and other such programmes are concerned, people watch as more than the talents they get to enjoy the 'physical assets' of the contestants.

I hope someone tells these revealing artists what a man is made of and what makes him hallucinate to commit sexual crimes.

Need to find something new.
by Indian on Dec 11, 2007 04:12 PM

They need to find something new. The serials and these shows cannot interest everyone for long. Most of these are copied from US TV programms even though it is made better here. Even in US people dont find these interesting.

Nothing is wrong
by SP on Dec 11, 2007 04:04 PM

There is nothing wrong if the audience are preferring Realty Shows in place of cheap sentimental serials. These serials have changed the daily routines of the people, even during the serial time many people avoid going to temple, watch a movie in the cinema hall etc. If a guest arrives a house during the serial time, the guest will see a red face of the family members as they dont like anybody to disturb them during the serial. Many people have fallen addict to it. It is a good change that at least the realty shows are preferred by a majority tv viewers. Those who were earning 35000 per month out of the serials could have been taken necessary precaution well in time and they could have thought that booming of serials are just like bubbles which will not last much time.
