This series was lost in the din of another fantasy series about bespectacled, scar bearing wizard that took the world by storm. Fans of fantasy should definitely read the "The Dark Materials" trilogy as there is much to savour. The series which started magnificently went off the rails in the third and final book. Such a disappointment from Pullman and the book we had all come to expect so much from. Nevertheless, it is still a tremendous achievement.
However, the book which could have been a great movie seems to have been made a hash of. A very underwhelming movie considering the quality of the story it is based. Very disappointed.

yeah your correct. the movie is just entertain for kids. But don't compare with the lord of rings. It is such a fantastic and superb movie.

i agree with what you said about not to compare it with the Lord of the Ring.I could watch that movie again for the 8th time anytime.
