How dare anyone on these boards presume to know ANYTHING about this man (not a famous actor, but a human being!!) and what he has been dealing with. Until u meet him, befriend him- mind your own business!! Why do u feel u have any right to judge, assume, conjecture?? Just because he was in some movies doesn't give any of us the right to play Sig Freud! Back off celebrities- they r human too! They give us entertainment- just cuz u spend 9$ doesnt give u the right to persecute them. How about this- a 20 yr old in Ohio slits her wrists- do u care?? Well u should- but cuz u didnt spend 9$ to see her pretend to be someone else- well now who gives a shit. Be smart people, be humans!! We live a short life.. why do we have to gain so much pleasure off of others misery?? To Owen and his wonderful family- I hope that the BS u read is ignored and u know that family is about being together n helping each other.. take care of him n yourselves.. n to Owen-- I wish u the VERY best of luck n I know w/ your support system u will heal- maybe not tommorow but u will heal- Love ya and wish u the very best!!

Easy tiger, not everyone on here is slagging Owen off and those that are obviously have issues themselves, so try not to get too aggresive, eh ?

by on Aug 28, 2007 11:15 AM

I don't think when you are that sad, you care about which wrist you are slitting. What you are using, and what will happen to you. All you care about is disappearing. And if you thik he is a bad actor/person...so be it. But, be sympathetic for the fact there was such a position present that made him want to do these things to himself.

Ann, WTF is your problem? Do you have nothing better to do with your time than to criticize Owen's acting abilities? I'd love to see what acting abilities you have (if any). I doubt you're exactly Academy Award material yourself.

May be not but I do not claim to be an actress. If i spend money to go and see a movie, i have the right to give my opinion so what is your problem ?

If you're going to be so critical it isn't hard to stay away from his movies. All you do is look it up beforehand, see he's in it and DON'T GO. You don't have to whine about how much you hate him to people who are obviously concerned about him. Do you go up to people of different faiths than your own and say that because you don't believe in them that the people who do are idiots?

Really hope Owen recovers quickly. He's a marvelous actor(and yes, I'll think again. Okay. Still at the same conclusion.) and I'm sure a wonderful person as well. Best wishes to him and his family during his recovery.

As a human being I wish him recovery even though he is a home wrecker going after married women (kate hudson), drug adict and a mediocre actor. That is charitable enough. What do you think ?

Ann,
1. if you do your homework you'll See Chris & Kate split before Owen and Kate got together
2. I'm sure you have better things to do with your time than to enter into a tall poppy syndrome slinging match. Clearly the issue has never been his ability to act or if you personally like him, he is not a favourite of mine either but it is more than obvious he has some talent if he is where he is today.
3. Respecting that the man is unwell and needs support is all you need to be consuming your self with.
4. Quite frankly your comments have all been racist, jealous and anti-human. You've portrayed yourself as a heartless moron.
I am neither religious nor a fan of Owen, but its synical people like you that make this world so negative.
BTW who died and made you the martyr?
Get a life honey! No one really wants to hear your uneducated trash talk.

I tell it the way I see the truth. I do not like sugar coating every thing. I am entiltled to my opinion and you are entitled to yours. I am not attaching you personally because your opinion is different than mine. Who is hateful and narrow minded now ?

My problem is that you're being entirely inappropriate. The man just tried to kill himself. Criticizing him now is like saying that you want him to attempt suicide again.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, that's why there's a such thing as freedom of speech! Suicide is a cowardly way of dealing with your problems, having faith that things will work out even if it doesn't seem like it will is being more responsible. Don't take whether someone thinks Owen Wilson is a great actor or not so seriously. I happen to think he's very funny, and it's ironic that I am watching one of his more serious movies called "Behind enemy lines".

Have you ever been suicidal? If not, then you have absolutely no place to criticize those who do struggle with suicidal tendencies. I myself have struggled with them since age 9 and I would give anything to make them go away (and yes, I do have a therapist, and I have actually gone to therapy regularly since I was 10, so don't think that I haven't tried to get rid of my suicidal thoughts, because I definitely have). Stop being so damned judgmental when it's obvious that you don't know a thing about what it's like to want to kill yourself.

Ann, I actually feel more sorry for you than I do Owen. For someone to have such a malicious attitude towards a stranger you must be harbouring a very bitter and twisted chip on your shoulder. Owen will seek help and get through this dificult time and come out the otehr end a stronger person, you however, unless you acknoweldge you have issues wont get help and will continue to walk through life very angry at the world.

Oh my God. Commenting on his nose and acting will send Owen on the downward spiral and he will try to committ suicide again. What planet do you live on. Inspite of all his problems even Owen will laugh at that. You must be the only child and that is why you are hyper sensitive. Just because he is going through rough time, does not make him a good actor. Two things are seperate. One is personal and one is professional.

Very well said Sir! I respect your thoughts and for the sake of humanity, we should not criticize those who try to end their life themselves. Your argument with Ann was completely valid and I respect you for your common man courtesy which shows love for humanity which should be everyone%u2019s responsibility as we are a part of this messed up society.
Though Owen is a %u2018star%u2019 and should NOT inherit any special sympathy, it shall not be forgotten that he was and still is a human (one of us) before he gained stardom. And my sympathetic thoughts go to him just out of my love for humanity (NOT because he is a star!).

There have been NO reports of an attempted suicide except for the crap that the Enquirer and Star like to invent.
I wish everyone working or associated with these two rags would commit suicide.

Why is Rediff Quoting Gossip Rags?

The National Enquirer & Star are gossip rags, not reputable news outlets.

Well, as it's true, I'd say that's why they're quoting them. The Enquirer is actually never too far from the truth, though they do have some questionable stories from time to time, always let on as "possibly true". They have news out sooner than the "reputable" news sources quite often, and I hear "breaking news" sooner from them than I have many that are deemed "true news" sources. Try to read them before you comment on them, as you shouldn't lump them with other literature created as a source of entertainment and nonsensical amusement.

Don't presume to know what I read. "Possibly true" & "true and verified" are not the same thing. These publication rely on hearsay & "sources". Who are these "sources"? Sometimes people close to the celebrity & sometimes people with malicious intent.

People search for happiness in all the wrong places such as alcohol, fame, or even in their chosen profession. For example, Pete Maravich's stage was a basketball floor, but during his heyday as a college star at LSU and being coached by his father happiness eluded him. His introduction to the NBA with the Atlanta Hawks and later with the New Orleans/Utah Jazz, and finally the Boston Celtics brought him more heartache than pleasure. It wasn't until his playing days were over and by simple faith accepted Jesus Christ as his savior that the load he had been carrying was finally removed. He found happiness in the simple things in life by being devoted to his two sons and telling others what Christ had done for him. His mother committed suicide, for which he felt responsible. The loss of his father was a difficult blow to him, but he took comfort in knowing that he, too, had accepted the Lord into his life. Biographies of people can teach us a lot, not the least of which is that others, who we often think of as living famous and glamorous lives, are often saddled with problems we can be thankful we don't have.
