Any film in which the protagonists are defending a corrupt and usless empire is a sour endeavor, and in poor taste. Let's face it, Colin Firth is a dork, third class. So Aish must carry the whole burden. It's worth the price of admission just to watch her onscreen.
RE:Did Kerala exist in 460 AD?
by on Aug 23, 2007 02:05 AM
yes,it was there.cheras were not there any more.it was samoothiri kings ruling there.and perumals like cherama perumul.Kodungallor was the state capital.an incerdible place where all the world religions met.
Kerala sure would have been there in 460 AD,otherwise how did we Syrian Xians came into being on the coast. We were converted by San Thomas himself from among high class Brahmin families by magical performance in 52 AD when even Jerusalem had less than 11% of Christians. But Mira may not be a name common in Kerala then.It should have been Unnuneeli,Unnichirutha or something like that.

what an incredible rubbish? Not even a single brahmin was converted. This is all missionary fabricated stories for fostering conversion.

That is what we believe .Syrian Catholics are all from upper caste brahmins only. There are no records ofcourse. Some believe there were no brahmins in kerala that time, but St.Thomas converted all the rich and powerful high class to christians. Some were even the Kings, that is why our heads of church live in aramana (palace in malayalam) and we call them thirumeni(the word used for addressing the kings).we don't marry the low caste converts who were converted by Portuguese. We maintain ourpure brahmin blood.

Are u sure?Who says kerala christians don't follow ther caste system of hindus? We do,we do.For eg: I am syrian xian who come from an ancient brahmin family converted by St.Tomas at AD 52 when he came to our coast with a Hebre merchant.CSI are people from the fisherman communit(low castes) converted by portuguese or dutch.Latin Catholc are low castes converted by Latin priests from italy and latin amerrican colonies.marthomites are all nairs converted for believing in the book.So we have an whole lot of castes in our religion. We don't practise it like hindus do,but we know our differences.

holy cow,why do you doubt? Is it becuz our holy religious heads look and dress like medieval European kings?Look at our people. They all look like high class brahmins becuz there is no mixing of blood.Namboottiris marry nairs, but we do no such thing. We marry only from ancieent bramin aristocratic converted families. That is how we retain our purity and central european looks.

don't get nervous sir! We believe in Bible,so there is no reason to doubt our word.We are pure brahmins who came to India from central europe(oris it central asia?) through punjab.we may have changed our religious beliefs but the lineage is undiluted.Another undiluted brahmins are the kashiri pandiths. If you do DNA testing of our genes to those in kashmir, your doubts will vaporise.

There was no distict region named Kerala back then. But sure the people and culture were there. That includes Kalarippayattu also.
Your claim about high class Brahmin families..hmmm..as if Saint Thomas came to Kerala and first did a study about who is high class and then converted them specifically?? I don't know. Anyway modern missionaries target the low class people for sure.
