Buddha Mar Gaya New Poor opening of 15-20%. The film will struggle at the box office.
Marigold New Poor opening of 10-15% and has had a very small release for a Salman Khan film. Reports are poor.

It's a BLACK COMEDY!
by Manasvi S on Aug 18, 2007 03:31 PM  | Hide replies

Does the reviewer even ubderstand what a black comedy is? The film is not for family audience. It was never intended to be. The film is technically weak and the background score is a big hoot. But the film was a laugh-riot. I don't think twice before laughing my heart out on a non-veg joke in a cinema hall. The prudes can go take a walk. We'll praise "Meet the Fockers" or any naked gun series but will raise our eye-brows if an indian filmmaker tries the same.

Manasvi, Buddha Mar Gaya "claims" to be a black comedy. It doesn't mean it is. Just before the movie started, they were showing the trailor for "Enchanted" and calling it "the motion picture event of the year". Does that mean it is?

Meet The Parents, Meet The Fockers and the Naked Gun movies were actually funny. The audience responded positively to them. But, I saw Buddha Mar Gaya in a theatre in Delhi, and I hardly heard anyone laugh. At most, there were 2 or 3 scenes where there was some laughter, but the biggest laughs were actually coming after the movie, from people who were laughing at how miserable the whole movie was.

This is not about Indian vs Imported. It's about entertainment. Bheja Fry was actually funny. It did well. This movie is just dumb. It searches really hard for laughs, but doesn't manage to find many.

Please define c-grade comedy. Have you never shared a non-veg joke ever with your friends? Why is it so appalling to see it on big screen? The film had lots of negative points but all of them technical.
