Discussions aside, the current generation will know once upon a time we made honset movies. These movies were not inspired by Holloywood classics. At that time, Actors used to consider acting as thier sole profession and it used to show on scree. their sincerity and honesty is for all to see.Dilip Kumar,Madhubala,Ajeet,OP Nayyier,Sahid Ludhanvi,Mohd Rafi,BR Chopra and many other are some of the names that will come alive with the rereleasing of ND.And finally the new gen will know that Ude Jab Jab Zulfien Teri is an oldie from ND sung by Rafi and Asha and not by some useless remix singer!!

Biju,
If Dilip Kumar is boring, then so are Amitabh Bachchan and scores of other actors who copied him shamelessly and are known as legends today!!!

dilip was a good actor, but he kept on repeatng himself agn and agn for sev years , what srk is doing now , srk was good in initial few years in movies like darr, bazigar, khkn, ddlj, kkhh and pardes after we lost a good actor. i was not a fan of dilip but i still feel he was too good in devdas, ganga jamuna, mughle azam and shakti . in shakti he beat BIG B hollow . and new devdas SRK was not even half as good. i rate dilip as 2nd best actor after sanjeev kumar . 3rd is BIG B. AND 4TH IS GOVINDA , srk and rajkumar

New Naya Daur

The BW Naya Daur was brilliant.
Mr BR Chopra, unlike his younger brother Mr Artificial-Gloss-Yash Chopra, made realistic, meaningful cinema, no gimmicks, no gloss- just good cinema.
His films- Ek Hi Raasta, Sadhna, Dhool ka Phool, Kanoon, Gumrah, Dharamputra, each a masterpiece brought out fine performances, unforgettable messages.
I certainly await the new Naya Daur in colour, which, with its fine landscape may turn out to be very, very good.

'Mother India' and not 'Mughal-e-Azam'
by Jay Subramanyam on May 01, 2007 10:21 AM  | Hide replies

Ravi Chopra should get his facts right, before making statements to the press. 'Mughal-e-Azam' was not released in 1957 as he claims but in 1960. The most important release of 1957 was Mehboob's 'Mother India' as also the year's biggest hit, which he has missed out on.

absuletly right jay . and naya daur is no match to azam which had madhubala and prithviraj kapoor with brilliant direction . not body will go to pvrs to see this movie .it will be a super flop . todays generation every boby knows abt kagaj ke phool, sahib bibi aur gulam, pyasa, hum dono, awara ,mother india, parinita, do bigha zameen, devdas (old), barsaat, kala pani, paying guest ,chori chori , baiju bawra
but naya daur, sorry nobody had heard

I Will Watch
by on May 01, 2007 02:20 AM

Fell in love with the grandeur of Mughal-E-Azam, the Prithviraj Kapoor - Madhubala on-screen chemistry and the quality of the other aspects of the film (script and choreography, for example).

I'll Naya Daur for many of the same reasons people watch classics: script, story and acting. Besides, Dilip Kumar alone is probably worth it!
