Isn't it 1000 yen, which is about Rs.350? Also the first day of the month it is 1000 yen for everybody. Besides, every Thursday is 'Men's Day' (as every Tuesday is 'Ladies Day') and you can get 1000 yen ticket.
In case if you don't know yet, here are some info. I think now almost everywhere there is Movix. So you can check it from this URL (http://www.movix.co.jp/).
Also you can become a member of Tsutaya video rental shop (www.tsutaya.co.jp). They offer 50% off for rental CD/DVD time to time. You can try for that also.

Ajit, You are most welcome. Here is a site in Japan (http://www.gyao.jp/cinema/) where you can watch movies. Not very recent one, or very best type, but sometimes they are quite watchable. There is another one (www.jonhs.net/freemovies/). Here also you can watch; though you can not download from any of these two sites. Hope these sites will help you a little when you feel bore.

this s'pore is a f'ked up place - they don't allow movie etc. d/ls and being such a small country/city, it's easy to track - a few days back they arrested some college kids, but people continue, for how long they'd be able to - s'pore govt. knows! Hail India! Hail Europe! Hail Torrents!
