these guys are hilarious...Hindu religion is not regulated by a Pope or Ayatollah...if Hindu weddings are becoming popular it is because it is extremely romantic & meaningful...no other marriage ceremony is as elaborate and entails such beautiful commitment of man & wife. Hindus want to spread out the good things about HInduism..not chew someones ass for impropriety in a wedding ceremony !!

not hurt millions of Hindus
by alok kumar on Apr 12, 2007 09:29 PM

Actually, millions of Hindus dont even care about these things. I think Hindus are not so sentimental to get hurt so quickly. I guess it is just these bunch of people who are hurt and they are using "Hindu sentiments" as weapon. I am not saying whether they are right or wrong getting hurt, but I am saying that please let Hindus live in peace. Half of us do not even know Liz Hurley and Arun anyway. You dont believe me? Come to villages and you will see what I am talking about.

This case should be thrown out of court
by Vishakha on Apr 12, 2007 04:19 AM

People have nothing better to do than file cases like these? Half of India is concerned about their next meal and don't even know who the Liz and Arun are. This kind of stuff makes me so mad.. Argghh

Grow Up!
by Debashri Sengupta on Apr 11, 2007 07:15 PM

Why is this entire Tamasha being given so much media space? Indian customs, Hindu Traditions.... hell, what were you expecting from Liz Taylor and Arun Nayyar (HAdn't even heard his name before Liz Taylor decided to marry him!)? Come on! I think its people who either did not get the invites, their cut of the revenues who are making this a big issue. India has so many important issues, we don't need to talk about the marriage of Liz Taylor (What's her claim to fame? Some inane roles in movies and an affair with Hugh Grant!) and Arun Nayyar. As for Nayyar's father, well, he should have sorted it out in private. I get a feeling that even he is looking for publicity, behaving like a typical hindi film father-in-law, blaming the bahu for the son's misbehaviour. And why do it in public if he is not looking for publicity? Fine, so the couple behaved badly with the groom's father. So what is India supposed to do? Fine, the bride did not wear the 35 lakhs necklace that her sasur gave her. So? He hasn't given that amount to a good cause... just an opulent gift! Why make it a media issue? When two unknown people get married this is the kind of hype that it generates! Wonder what will ensue with the Ash-Abhi wedding!!!! I would love to see Amar Singh wailing though :D.
