Copycat hindi directors and producers. This is simply lifting the story from the French movie "The dinner game". Why can't be atleast honest and give the credit to the original?

Have u bothered to read any of the director's interviews? The producer Sunil Doshi has official rights of many french movies incl. 'The Dinner Game'. & the director publicly acknowledges the french film as his inspiration. SO PLEASE GET UR FACTS RIGHT!

Chetna, It is the responsibility of the author or Rajat to mention the facts in this article. How do you expect anyone to know whether the rights are bought or not. Since it is very rare to see originality/creativity in hindi movies/music world, one would assume it is "lifted"

I think there has to be a disclaimer in the beginning ( and maybe in the end) acknowledging this movie was based on, inspired by, lifted off from " The Dinner Game". The original movie was a riot, no harm remaking it but you cannot get any credit for the idea..
Be cool! Dont say all B'wood producers and directors are stupids and they made stupid movies for 40 years. Good and bad are part and parcel of any industry in the world. If you want to choose bad ones and then label them as bad, you are doing injustice. Be aware that there are a handful of comments on this article. It shows how indifferent people are to you!

I agree with Rajat that Bollywood failed for 40 years to give variety to the audience. Proof is today's genre of films. But I condemn Rajat for blatant copying from a French film and claiming credit for making a good film.

Looks like you have not seen hindi movies at all. Have you seen Rang De Basanati , Lage Raho Munnabhai? Or you see only Mallika's movies? If you are generalising hindi film industry based on Mallika's movies, you are right!
Bheja Fry is inspired by this amazing french movie.the english version is THE DINNER GAME. I m a die hard fan of hindi comedy movies but i have to admit this french movie is the best comedy i have ever seen. The guy who played the idiot delivered a knock out performance. when i saw this movie ,it reminded me of all those Hrishikesh Mukherjee comedies which were so clean without double entendre or double meanings. i m sure that there are many talented writers in India who can provide good scripts but again i think it is the audience who needs to support these kind of movies,a good recent example is Khosla Ka Ghosla which was well made, so more films like that should be made in order for the indian film industry not to loose its traditional roots.
I don't know where these Mumbaiya Producers and Director are heading towards.Don't think about quantity but Think about the quality, subject & story of the film. In yesteryears there were so many films in hit category but nowadays so many films in flop category. There is problem of story writers and good producers & Directors. They steal complete story from Hollywood which has no relevancy in our society.Look at VIVAH,without any media hype it did well because of it's "SAF SUTHARI" picturisation and a simple story according to the indian context.

Your comment abt VIVAH is absolutely true. Its a movie which deserved success and the audience knew it. See, it still in Top 5 charts whereas films like D2 and other so-called blockbusters fast disappeared. If a small minority didn't like it, it hardly matters.

u call that a movie- i am sure u don't know what a movie means. it is such a boring, idiotically crap. I can totally imagine somebody's lifestyle who liked it. God their life is really slow.

Producers are bold these days to experiment. Inspite of the flops, the film industry will learn that the audience is more matured these days to reject silly love stories that run purely due to some good music and perhaps a good looking heroine, hero.
I didnt liked Mixed doubles! Actually there is no point to tell, I couldnt digest Konkana in such a bad role after watching her in Page 3, 15 Park Avenue. Its just that her talent is wasted.
