Lage Rho Munna Bhai
by Manish Gogna on Oct 03, 2006 03:29 PM

I do feel that Lagey Raho Munna Bhai has what it takes to compete at the international level , more so in the current scenario with war ,conflict and intolerance taking new dimensions. Even if it does not win , we can still give the message of peace and non violence to the world. Good luck....

Both deserve acclaim and recognition

I wish they were not released in the same year. There would have been a very good chance of India getting 2 oscars.

sending to oscars.. r u kidding
by Mazharuddin on Oct 03, 2006 11:54 AM

Craappp.... LRMB is no doubt an outstanding movie , but only in Indian terms. How can u justify that the tapori language that caused 50% of the laughter in the movie is going to make the english judges feel the same intensity. This one point is good enough for the movie not to be selected ahead of RDB. No need to stress on other aspects..... What say u?

I dont think it will make it
by Prashant on Oct 03, 2006 05:24 AM

Lage raho is a great movie and I like it very much. One of my favorites too. BUt i dont think it will make it big in the Oscars.
The reason: It is too Indian. Foreigners wont understand the emotions behind the film and its theme. They will not understand the subtle differences b/w 'Waat laga di' and 'Durgathi'. This is a great hit in India. but Oscars requires a film which will be understood well by the world.

thumbs up LRMB
by Yogesh Kale on Oct 02, 2006 11:22 PM

i think its a good decision... LRMB has a good universal appeal. Gandhi and his philosophy is well known all around the world. it has a good theme of spreading the goodwill which will have target audience in the western world.

Actually, I liked the concept of the movie very much. Its totally rocking story and star cast. I don't know what oscar people look for but if I were in oscar commitee then I would have definately given thought to it.
