Why hasn't he mentioned that it is a direct lift off from malayalam movie Perumazhakalam. All admiration fro him goin down the drain. If its a lift off he shud atleast admit it, that it is his version of the story.I have seen the original myself n believe me ppl...the story is a carbon copy!
Atleast 10 pages of comments have been posted at the rediff review of Dor about the film being a total rip-off of a Malayalam movie released an year back. Raja Sen himself had written excellent review of that Malayalam movie. Mr.Nagesh could atleast say he was 'inspired' by a Malayalam movie. He has lost his stature in front of genuine movie lovers.
RE:Why doesn't he say he remade a Malayalam movie?

Before writing anything on messageboard ,do read properly and then comment. i am saying this for i have seen many people doing that.Read the first part of his interview ,he never denied that. Here is what he said: "Raja Sen :The Dor story, for me, began last December at the IFFI in Goa. I watched a brilliant film called Perumazhakkalam based solely on your raving recommendation. Cut to now, when your own version of the same film is out... Nagesh:It is based on a true story, as you know. The Malayalam director Kamal based his film on a newspaper article. But I bought the story rights from him, because that's just fair: they hit the story first, which is how I got to know of it. I thought it was a fantastic premise, and wanted to do something completely different with it." I am not a big fan of nagesh but i dont like when people tries to turnish anybody's image without proper reason. Sorry for being harsh if it sounds like.

In the first part of the interview itself Nagesh has admitted that fact that a Malayalam has been made on the same subject. Here's the excerpt:
"It is based on a true story, as you know. The Malayalam director Kamal based his film on a newspaper article. But I bought the story rights from him, because that's just fair: they hit the story first, which is how I got to know of it. I thought it was a fantastic premise, and wanted to do something completely different with it."
