ur coverage was great but ms lalitha was elder sister(chandramukhi in devadas telugu) and ragini the younger. their niece resembles ragini more3 than others. I saw her hindi films and also ammalakkalu in telugu a remake of marumagal(tamil) starring NTR. may her soul rest in peace sincerely, rpchallapalli
In yr article 'Looking back at Padmini' you hv mentioned that her older sister is Ragini and younger sister is Lalite. This is wrong as Lalita is her elder sister and Ragini the younger one. The trio also known as Travancore sisters were fondly called as Lalli, Papi & Rakhi. And also you mentioned all her costars in all languages except her malayalam heroes. She has worked in Malayalam with almost all the major heroes of her time like Satyan, Prem Nazir, Madhu etc. And she has also worked with today's Mega Star Mohanlal in 2 films - Vaastuhara & Nookethadoorathu Kannum Nattu. In these the 2nd one directed by Mr.Fazil was a major hit of that period and proved that Padmini has still fans even in this time. Her death is really a loss to the movie industry especially the south indian industry. Who can forget her dance steps in movies like 'Tillana Mohanambal' where she dances for songs like 'Marainthirunthe paarkum marumamenna' and 'Nalam thana' & in Vanchikottai Valiban where she competes with another dancing wonder Vyjayanthimala Bali. Her passing away is really a loss to her fans and who loves movies
Dear friends, I'm Mrs. Padmini Ghosh from calcutta. I've been reading about the famouse actress Padmini. I found an error in the write up about her. It's mentioned Ragini as her elder sister & Lalita as her younger sister, wich is wrong. In fact Lalita was her elder sister & Ragini the youngest. I pray fro the great actress's departed soul. In fact it's my elder sister who game the name Padmini , as sge's a great admirer of the late actress. Mrs. ghosh
