i felt very desperate after watching Siva2006, there is no connection with the old siva either in story or approach. i feel ramgopal varma is exhausted in his ideas, just to continue his factory, he is making such low budget films worth of nothing but still getting his returns because of bolly wood market size, i felt it is a two hour (english style),comedy movie wth serious goons.
Ram gopal verma is on a ego trip. He is messing up with his imagery. I think he should go back to his roots and make meaning ful cinema. we as audience accept a lot from genius like RVG. pls sir get back to ur original form.
As for the movie RGv started up well than it went out of hands. the movie well passed the expiry date. stale subject without RVG touch.
I cant agree more. RGV has gone from great to good to bad to worse. He has become very arrogant and is thinking that he has become India's answer to Scorcese or Coppola. His Sarkar was a BAD effort at imitating Godfather. Shiva-the original one was his greatest movie and thats because he was young and less arrogant and did not take his audience for granted. That film made originally in Telugu first remains one of the all time favorites of Andhras, unfortunate how he is driving nails in his own coffin.
I don't know what credentials Sukanya has for being a movie critic....of course, one doesn't really need credentials to become a critic but bracketing Amitabh with Sunny Deol and Akshay Kumar shows a distinct lack of appreciation of what represented Hindi movies over past few decades. Agreed both Sunny Deol and Akshay Kumar are heroes in their own respect but it defeats me to put them in the same class as Amitabh.
When I went to see this movie in LA on the third day of its release, there were only 9 people in the theatre which made me feel a bit sad about the current tastes in audience. 30 mins into the movie made me realize how wrong I was..
Being a big fan of RGV myself, I never guessed Varma is capable of making a melodramatic stinker. Varma is known for making fun of sugarcoated romantic movies, now he gives a chance to be mocked.
I went to see "Lage Raho" and when I came to know that "Shiva" was also playing at the same complex, I changed my decision. But do I regret watching this movie?? No way... On any given day, I can watch a blank screen for 3 hours if its directed by RGV
