no remixes

Reason why remix r not popular: they r not original. In music which is an art , u have 2 be creative. Its like research. But 2 do that u must have ur fundas or a strong base of music. Remember only originality is remembered. In that also that which is appealing 2 ur minds or heart will remain eternal. U also req. good talented singers with powerful words. Phew! see how difficult it is to get agood song. All this was there in olden days. Thats the only reason those songs will be immortal. Time is proving it!

Hey naveen!!
I dont remix nor im a DJ...my thought was only about people like Ravi,Jagit Singh, etc. who might have done good music but now no way bro...
And i defi. dont like Himmesh or Anu Malik kinda soundz but might add here that Anu has givcen good music ala L.O.C.,some more films like that but he's not got my respect cause he copies.
THe same way no one gets my respect if they try to sulk and cry bout there music being better than others.
And by the way,ur so called musicians(those u listed here) when they perform abroad..u'll only find desi's listenin to them(i have seen it live).

Dear Tarun,
Are you a DJ? Do you remix?
Ok let me tell you about our DJs, they play popular songs one after the other or they just remix an entire song with some lousy hip-hop lyrics which sound so artificial when sung by Indians with fake accents.
International DJs (most good ones, I'm not talking about great ones) create their own music. Most of these guys play instruments and then create music. How many Indian DJs can play instruments. Thats why they are not popular in the West.
Indian music directors of today, take beats, rhythms from tracks of International DJs, change the tempo, bass, etc. and voila, a Himesh Reshammiyya music is done. Guys like Anu Malik r worse. They do a straight lift off.
Very rarely do u hear good music from our music directors. They suck big time. Do one thing, go to some of the fusion shows (Taufiq Qureshi, Bikram Ghosh, Niladri, Sivamani etc) who create brilliant music. All original. Guys like Kailash Kher are a blessing for singers. Own style, inspired by Sufi music.
The older generation also copied (inspired) but they never lifted the entire tune. They experimented and gave it the Indian touch. 85% was original. Anu Maliks music is 100% copy

remix is stealing someone else's creative genius & distorting it
by mitzy on Sep 15, 2006 11:22 AM

I agree!
Re-mixes tell the world that we have run out of fresh ideas.....
It is neither satisfying to the older generation , as it distorts fond memories of good music , as well as the younger ones who dont really appreciate the sentiments expressed in the lyrics.

Re-mixes are a mis-match.the whole idea is abhorrent!

IS the new generation so depraved that they cannot make their own music? why are the golden oldies still sung & remembered? because they were authentic and there was feeling in them... alas, the new songs are as forgettable as the the shallow people who make them.

Go back to your roots but dont steal from those who have passed on!DO they pay royalty? or cheat even there?
