Everyone writes off SOK as a big flop when in reality it wasn't. It did not turn out to be a super hit as it was expected (although why I don't know since it is one of the best romantic movies and let's not even get into the songs!) but it ran for 100 days and made a profit. Websites like Sify etc were very unfair with the movie saying it was a flop (but then again this is the very same website that in a recent box office countdown said the no 2 opener --which was also a dumb movie -- Thenavatti was a hit while Vaaranam Ayiram which had 97% opening in the first week and over 90% in the second week was declared an average movie!) The soundtrack for SOK became the biggest selling soundtrack for the year and gave AR Rahman another Filmfare award in Tamil film after being shut out for a couple of years.
