Sounak Dey
Mithun's image
by Sounak Dey on Sep 08, 2006 09:08 PM

Mithun Chakraborty does classless films now-a-days is accepted and well-known. But the first line of this review seems to make a mockery of this person, who won more National Awards than any, when such awards were not farce, who actually is a godown of talent. To watch a Mithun film is always one's choice, nobody can be forced to see any movie.

What is there to laught about!
by prabal on Sep 08, 2006 08:45 PM

Everyone knows that Mithun is a talented actor and he has won 3 national awards! One should laugh at Hollywood wannabes like AIshwarya who is used the Hollywood mantra to garner few Hindi films to compensate her waning beauty and absolutely zero histrinics!

Missing the point?
by ks on Sep 08, 2006 07:11 PM

The stupidity of people writing comments here cannot be overstated. Clearly there is No understanding whatsoever of sarcasm or satire and everything is taken literally.
The movie has a "one star" rating, the reviewer clearly believes its rubbish and the plot is laughable anyway. So in this case what "finer points" are we talking about dear? And a critic's role IS to eulogize And/Or censure because its understood that its an opinion. And I feel its a Great review because its clear there's little else to tell. Hope most of our country does Not completely miss the point when obvious digs are made at Mithun(a nice one btw).

Mithun

I guess it is quite derogatory for the reviewer to say the first statement about audiences laughing at the very concept of Mithun da giving a good performance. I really wonder where does rediff hire their reviewers. I guess the reviewer is completely unaware of the fact that Mithun Chakrabarty has won 3 national awards for Mrigaya (Mrinal Sen), Tahader Katha (Buddhadev Dasgupta), Swami Vivekananda. The demi gods of bollywood Shahrukh included never achieved this feat. Thumbs down to the reviewer

Dil Diya Hai

\\\"You\\\'d be forgiven for laughing if I said Mithun Chakraborty is the only saving grace of any film\\\" - These lines are not understood! People have forgotten to talk straight. You petty critics don\\\'t know how to criticize! Thomas Carlyle can be remembered, \\\"A critic\\\'s job is not to eulogize nor censure.\\\"

You call this a review
by CJ on Sep 08, 2006 04:14 PM

Is this a joke or movie review? In last three lines of the review, everything is mentioned including performances, technical aspects. No mention of direction, where is Mithun's detail (as he is mentioned saving grace)? you whole review is like against Hashmi only. Wake up girl!! please learn the ABC of reviewing and then write what you learnt.
Try to be a real critic?
