Like the Nobel peace prizw this prize also has gone to a person who is undeserving..i dont think so she deserves this prize. Does anybody knows in statistics how much work has she done..how many people or villages or reural people have got the benefitted which can be shown today..going into villages and just doing some morcha is not done..and appearing in some movies showing social causes is just a means of getting publicity...giving these awards to such people is just making a mockery of the whole thing..

More and more celebrities from the field of film, sports, industry and other walks of life need to come forward and join the common folk in transforming our country into a paradise. Most often people like Shabana speak for effect. My maid who lives in the slum area where Shabana was fighting for them told me she comes just for show. What has she really achieved for all her projection to be an activist? I do not know of anything concrete. And such people get the Gandhi Peace Prize! Why not more deserving people like Baba Ramdev, Shri Shri Ravishankar, Baba Amte?
What a great honour! It really is a very well deserved award. While so many film stars are very busy enriching only them selves Shabana diverts her invaluble time , attention and energy in helping poor slum people irrespective of their religion or caste. Hats off to her.Keep it up Ms Azmi.
