Follywood or Bollywood

Bollywood is Bum and dumb. Except for Amitabh Bachhan all look like wooden actors. Goa is a good place for drinking and relaxing , not for serious cinema. For Bollywood it is okay. Not for Malayalam and Bengali flims and even Cheran, Kasaravalli and the thinking film makers. Bollywoods only achievement is that it has tried to do what couples do freely in western civilzation in parks. The only difference is that they have introduced songs around trees.

Hey Indian.......

This what the south indians also r telling... Treat us also as indians not south indians. What ever u say this aversion v've felt in some north indians v mingle with. I'm not telling this is the attitude of everyone, but some people still show it. But here in the film festival u cant say all r treated equal. If u look u can clearly see that the national award winning directors & films are downplayed.... What these people call for is not any reservation, but just & equal treatment....... thats all..........

Why would you write such things without properly understanding what is the issue being brought out!!!
Nobody is going against Hindi movies. These directors are just telling the organizers are focusing and giving importance only to Bollywood directors and movies and not to other film directors from other parts of the country (and of other languages).
Nobody is saying that regional movies are better than the Hindi movies. Though South Indian movies many times excel the Karan Johars and Yash Chopras products.
And who is asking for reservations?? Their claim in only to avoid the partiality shown to some directors/movies.
And finally, what does your question means - "when would you drop south from South Indian and be just an Indian?" -- You think if we adopt Hindi in everything, we become "Indians".
One question to you, when will you stop showing your north chauvinism?

south indian movie saga...
by Indian on Nov 30, 2006 03:05 AM  | Hide replies

This drama is not for IIFI, this is for promoting south indian movies, South indiia fail to understand that they are promoting their own regional movies agaist national movies ( yes Hindi is national language, no matter what you think or say )

And why the hell you think that south indian movies should do well aways from your onw state? infact Karnataka had to ban hindi movies from karnataka so that ppl can watch their "great" (?) movies.

Why dont you want to compete in open market? why do you need a handicap of reservation kinda thing?

Hindi movies goes/producers never ask for any ban on regional movies?

And most important thing, when would you drop "south" from South Indian and be just an Indian?

Jai Hind , Jai Bharat

Because its our tax money, you are spending....!

who gives a damn if you spent your own money on the stars that you like.

dont think Hindi is the only National language.

India is made of all the parts of INdia, not just some part/region .

Just because one family members got a chance to be prime ministers for long, now all their cousins, milk men and their favourite was pushed on others.

No basic amneties, no schools, but just the whims and fancies of a few people.

Well NOT ANY MORE.....

Times changed...

Now everyone gets their due.

so if you dont get your cosy feeling any more, too bad...
wake up and smell the reality

Hi,
Thats such an absurd comment. Please donot bring your nationalistic feeling of hindi being a national language to movies. South is also a part of India. Due you expect bengali/oriya or bhojpuri movies to be made in hindi?? what do you mean. Have you ever been to south. Do you know that bollywood's biggest hits ran equally in South, not now but from or before Raj kapoor era. South indians really understand north indian sensibilities and watch hindi movies. As of today Dhoom2 has made an awesome collection of 40.5 lakhs, Casino Royale and Don making equal collections at Chennai Box office. But very rarely i have met any north indian who watches tamil/kannada/telugu/kannada movies or have a fair knowledge on the geography and sesibilities of south india. For most of north indians, south india is just madras!!! Even Raja Sen agrees that he doesnot watch much south indian movies.
And when it comes to Pronouncing Girish Kasaravalli as dead it is attrocious to talk such rubbish. Please stand up against such a bias.
