Though you are entitled to your own opinion, I don't think you can get it right all the time, can you ?. After all you are as good as writing a review as Shahid is at acting (as claimed by you)
I saw Vivah in the weekend. It was an absolute treat to watch.I have simply fallen in love with Poonam(the character of Amrita rao).We watch so many movies but very few make a mark in our emotions.Vivah is one of them.I wish I get somebody like Poonam as my life-partner.The simplicity and clarity in speech and behaviour has really stolen my heart.Shaheed kapoor's character was also good.Kaash har ladke aise hote....Hats off to Rajshri production..they are the true embodiments of our rich and cultural heritage.
I just saw the movie the day before on cable and rediscovered Barjatya. The reviewer has called the film "regressive" but that's because it does not conform to his definition of "progressive". Perhaps one would need to be sufficiently "westernized" in one's external persona to be progressive. But no. That's not being progressive in fact. You are progressive when, like in the movie, you feed your pained wife with your own hands. And you are progressive when, like in the movie, you can dress her burns yourself. When you can give her tender loving care. But perhaps, the reviewer is too cynical to even notice these things.
I WATCH THIS MOVIE ATLEAST ONCE A DAY. TILL TODAY ITS 276 TIMES !!!
ITS A WONDERFUL, MUST WATCH MOVIE.
SHAHID KAPOOR IS WONDERFUL, CUTE AND GOOD LOOKING ACTOR WHO WILL HAVE A GREAT CAREER AHEAD. A NEXT SUPERSTAR IN-MAKING. AMRITA RAO IS ALSO GOOD - NEXT MADHURI DIXIT IN MAKING.
1.Rediff reviewer is mad and crazy, PLEASE DUMP HIM either he does not have any Indian family values and cultures for himself or may be has divorced number of times with unsuccessful relations.
2. I rate this movie above 5 stars.
3. For we people who are NRI's and want to pass on Indian culture and values to our children, movies of this kind need to be produced or else our young generation will always follow the western culture tracks which is absolutely heartbreaking.
We understand the importance of our Indian culture only when we come and live in this western world and see their culture with no family values.
(I am married for last 8 and a mother of 6 years old boy always worried about his upbringing)
