Mohanlal and Mammootty r great actors combining qualities of acting skill and charismatic personality.But certainly they should not be considered as greatest people ever seen after the birth of Kerala State.AKG,EMS,CM Stephen,C Achuta Menon,Moithu Moulavi,KR Narayanan etc should come ahead of them.Also there is EC George Sudarsan,Kastoori Rangan,Madhavan Nair etc from Scientist World.MT,Thakazhi,Basheer,Kesava Dev etc from Literature and even persons from Film world Adoor Gopalakrishnan,Aravindan,Ramu Karyat,Bharathan etc had greater contributions.We cannot forget people like vayalar,devarajan,Yesudas,Dakshinamurthy,MS Baburaj etc from music world.Even in film acting there r people like Sathyan,Kottarakkara,Gopi,Thilakan etc. who r equivalent to Mammootty and Mohan lal.It is shocking more than 50% votes grabbed by both of them but many great people were forgotten by the participants

lal and mammoos r equaly great..however Lal always was the superior when it comes to sheer versatility and popularity..however iam not makin any comparisons..its like sampras vs federer..

exactly..the sheer popularity of lal.its inarguable.....malayali stillconsiders him as their pride..mammoos is..but lot to go if he ned to achieve wht lalettan did...and mr krishnan.stop ur barking..ok ..u like mammooss thts it..go and bark then..
First of all its a natural choice that Mohanlal is one of the popular Malayalee.But the question is how many people casted their vote and from what all places they have casted.How many people from abroad casted their vote excluding the middile east?
Its very easy to show all these charts in percentage.If this CNN-IBN is very honest in this servey they should have given the correct number of participation.
Who were the voters, who else were in the contest and how and when did the poll take place. Without these information the announcement is not valid. Don't be so stupid in announcing somebody as the most popular Malayali without letting all the malayalees know about it in the first place!!

Your "very very very clear " itself makes it pretty clear whether you are mamooty fan or not..i agree that i am a mohanlal fan and, i wonder the difference of vote percentage is just 7% between the two actors.. i feel it should be minimun 25% in favour of mohanlal, simply becuz he`s the most loved actor kerala ever produced

I also understand your "vikaram". Whatever arguments you say, one thing is very very very clear that Mammootty is equally popular like Mohanlal. No doubt about it. I am not a fan of Mammootty. But the kind of role he has done vis. Amaram, Mrugaya, Vadakkan Veeragadha, Madhilukal, Dr.Ambedkar, etc. etc. are outstanding and Mohanlal never ever can match this. Mohanlal has done role which are 'COMEDY" except some roles like "Devasuram" which I like very much.
You also be very cautious when giving replies to some views - I have never blamed Mohanlal in my comment.
One more thing which should not be missed is if Mohanlal, Mammooty and Yesudas are in the poll, no doubt the winner will be Yesudas - the voice Kerala hear everyday.
