More about telugu industry
by yadav on Nov 04, 2006 01:06 AM  | Hide replies

Telugu Film industry is not less than Tamil or Malayalam Industry down south with films like Pokiri and Stalin doing 80 crores business together. Infact Stalin collected 16 crores in one week. The industry has given many big hits which are remade in Hindi and Tamil.MegaStar Chiranjeevi is one of the biggest and powefull hero in india. I request rediff to give more news about Telugu industry which has good heros like Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Balakrishna, Mahesh babu, Pawan Kalyan and NTR.I rarely see any news about these big heros in rediff.

Hi,

I am not completely agree with you.
There are only few goos movies in telugu industry.
Ex - Pokri, Tagore..
But there are lot of horrible movies....
Bangaram,narasimha,Alari pi....List is endless.
Stalin earned money becuase of Chiru's Brand name.
Not because it is good.

Yadav!

I guess most of the reporters are from chennai .I have been following rediff from the past 6 years ,they never showed much interest to write any news about Telugu Film industry.I think they do not know ,the second Biggest Film industry is Telugu after Bollywood and most of films produced in India especially southindia are from telugu film industry and most of the superstarts are also from our industry.
I have written many comments about coverage of Telugu film news .There is no improvement.

I agree that telugu film industry is producing top notch grossers which rake in the moolah, but to say that the movies are great would only provoke laughter! There has been no change in its approach to movies, its always the same old wine in a a old bottle(forget a new bottle)!I have spent all my life in Hyderabad n i know how the movies.Gone are the days when quality stuff like the ones by K.Vishwanath were compared to Satyajit ray n other stalwarts.Bommarillu is an exception to this. Pls don compare Telugu movies to Tamil industry at all. When was the last time one heard a Telugu Movie baggin a national award barrin one.Ppl encourage nonsense in the name of clean movies which r touted as famil entertainers. They r clean no doubt, but clean hear refers lack of a story or depth in content.Chiranjeevi is a parody of old self when he took character roles as well.Today for all his vaunted "powerful" tag, he does not have the guts to take imaginative roles.

If movies are about making money, then Bollywood movies must be the best in India. Unfortunately, it is not that way. It is about making movies which all sections of people can watch, relate to and enjoy...

Are all Tamil movies great? Are there no horrible movies in Tamil? I think these people are from Chennai and there is no point of arguing with Tamil-chauvinistic people who have been enjoying in their ignorance.

Telugu Industry is much bigger than any other industry down south. Its the second biggest industry only next to Bollywood. Every year its churning out very many good films. You can also find many superhits in Telugu being remade in Tamil also like okkadu, pokiri etc.. The only thing is that Rediff is not covering the Telugu movie Industry well.

Whats this distinction between the southern movies. All movies have there own importance, but moving on and giving specific importance to a language wud not be good. I watch all kind of movies Bollywood, Hollywood, Tamil, Telgu, Malayalam and Kanadda..Giving equal importance to all...I dnt understand Telgu, but even then watch good movies if frds insist me to..but leaving behind I wud not give any special appreciation for the same.
So please... do not go into language aspects..
