its clear that people don't want to see the movie as nobody has comeout of its support. There is no hue and cry on the ban of vincci code even after censor passing it. This is all marketing gimmick by Aamir. Who has given him threat where is the risk to his life, just rehersing the lines spoken so many times in movies. He is no connected with the theme of the movie because it is the director's medium. Aamir only works in them because he is paid absurdly handsome amount otherwise he would'nt do it. Its is all business nothing about big talk in the air about democracy and freedom.

Right of expression
by partha biswas on May 30, 2006 03:14 PM

Freedom of speech is a must for everyone of us,
including myself writing this responce.I am neither a Gujrati, nor a BJP activist or supporter of Modi. But public appearance and utterances may carry "loaded" messages. In the case of Aamir Khan, it is NOT clear if his original statement was a planned affair to act as a promoter for his future activity(in this case release of his film)or is it a genuine expression of concern. And there lies the catch ... if he was at all aware of the OTHER side of the coin,in this case the hardship that many Gujratis face in terms of water scarcity,he should have taken care to atleast say SOMETHING about them too. NOT only the persons who are (?) getting displaced because of the Dam.So it is his IGNORANCE that is making him pay the price. He should have made a MORE concerted and objective study of the pros and con.Hopefully this acts as a lesson for other celebrities.Remember the old saying...a fool often walks where angels fear to tread.Has he even NOW made ANY study of the misery faced by others and as to WHY there is a need that the dam be built? Hopefully he does so now. Then ones freedom of speech may sound more truthful and fruitful.

aamir khan has done nothing wrong
he has every right to express his views
he voiced his concern about the rehabilitation
of the affected people.it shows his humanity
bjp has got no other work and its bad to target aamir's religion bcos religion has got nothing to do in this issue
