Persons like Aamir who protests just for the sake of keeping themselves in limelite and cheap publicity should know few facts:
Construction of Narmada Dam has enables Gujarat to have its Lacs of hecres of dry land to be converted into very productive in termes of agreeculture products though channels of canals.
Few years ago,Lacs of our mothers and sisters had to walk miles to just get drinking water. Now, with blessings of Narmada dam, they are getting water at thier doorstep.This is the greatest achievement of Narmada Dam Project.
Just for few hundreds of afected persons at dam site, millions of needy persons of Gujarat shouild not be deprived of water-a basic need.
In five crore Gujaratis' eyes, protesters of Narmada dam are the most hatred persons who lives on foreighn funds.
All of us have decided that not only we oppose release of Aamir's movie in Gujarat, we will also not watch any of his movie on our television sets, home theaters and PCs. This is not political oppose, but it is social one.

Mr Mehta,
You are being informed that the Govt of India is going to build an army base on the land you and your family live on. Please vacate now - we will rehab you somewhere else.
Now, what do you do?
Do you believe the Govt will rehab you? If you do and vacate your houses and are instead put on the streets or given uninhabitable land - marshy land or reclaimed land - would you move there or would you question the Govt why they are not living to their promises?
Till this day Mr Mehta - and others like you - will not understand what NBA or Aamir are doing. Best for all of you to stay out of it rather than spread rhetoric.
With regards to those who are questioning Aamir's expertise on this issue - let me ask you all - give up being a critic of his movies and other Bollywood movies and he will give up talking on social issues. Didn't understand what I just said? You see you are both protected by the Constitution's freedom of speech - so to all those who question why Aamir is questioning the "chalta hai" mentality of india - buzz off! - and let the likes of Aamir do what they want to.

Dear Mohinder, don't give the hypothetical and logical stuff here. Nobody is against the people who are going to be rehabilitated, neither they are deprived off. Don't consider gujaratis that mercyless.If you don't know they are best at charity, not only to humans but to animals and all. So if people who can look after animals, are not going to deny justice to the fellow country men. But see aamirs case is different. His statement after departure of BJP led NDA govt. at center. His statement about Vadodra disturbance .... Can't you infer what his actual problem is..... And mind you all who try to defame gujaratis every now and then.... stop doing mud sledging at gujaratis either directly or indirectly....
its nice to know that "fanaa" is not going to released in Gujarat multiplexes.may be people in other parts of country other than gujarat will feel that this is political and very harsh for him.but let me clarify even common gujarati like me who is die-hard fan of Aamir will not like to watch his any movies after his immature stand on Narmada issue.the issue of rehabilitation may be somewhat there but to come out and influence the whole issue even not knowing how many centimeters make meters (regarding height of dam) its really not good.because in other parts of india people are not aware of the issue.this is like water distribution problem in south states to me as narmada issue is for other people except Gujarat.they will be definitely thinking that Aamir is right and will be of opinion that Gujarat is killer of all those people by building dam.for their knowledge dam has been proposed by Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar patel whose credentials are never at doubt. so when the case is in the apex court people of stature of Amir khan should have stayed away from this.this also questions the creditibility of apex court over the issue.so lesson was needed for him and has come at right time.
Rang De villains were sporting saffron angavastram, although saffron parties had little to do with MIG 21 purchases or crashes. Then Aamir khan hogged lime light for NBA a cause not favored by Gujaraties. It is a kind of professional risk the film unit took for gaining favor with some other sections, perhaps. So why crib if Gujaraties refuse to see your stuff. Find some other place and make a hit of it like Rang De, if you can. It is a wide world.
India (especially Gujarat) has lost it. Its now run by political thugs who will use violent means to supress anything that challenges their point of view. A country of thugs.
