Da vinci code must be banned. Defenitely any thing which hurts the feelings of fellow human beings must be condemned by the world. All community members must support the ban whether they agree with the sentiments or not. When there r so many issues to be taken as movie. Why should they make profit by hurting some one. that too their religious feeling. Its blasphemy.

A scholarly book

I find it strange why Muslims are against this book or film when it clearly shows that the notion of Christ as God is false and says that Emperor Constatine accepted the Christianity and added the heathen symbolisms to it banning all other gospels except the four that corresponded to his view.As far as I know there is nothing in Quran that talks of the family or wife of Christ so that is something we can not have any stand. This is a must see film for everyone and indeed I feel this is the Christ's new coming - We are viewing him in a different perspective.

Well, A muslim asks that why is it muslims are against the film and book, than he should read and understand the history of quran and history of islam. There is much learn, it takes years. Try to learn and read and understand.

Some time back in one of the western countries a bikini product was released and it had a simbol of a Hindu God. As Hindus are minority in that country they made big sound and company took back the product. Why do you think that they made big nosie? It is same in India. Why don't you respect the feeling of minorities?
Western countries, they did not banned because litracy rate is high and people can understand what is right and what is wrong. but in India even literate people talk rubish, without knowing the subject and without putting any efforts to understand the truth. It is needed to be banned because people not mature enough to understand the truth and later they will talk rubish about some else's faith.

I have seen the movie and am in the process of reading the book too. But I fail to understand what is the HO HO HALLA and noise about? It seems that people are VELAAs and don't have much to do but for protesting against some thing or the other.

Best done - Da Vinci Code - before it is too late
by Shalem Kumar on Jun 06, 2006 03:54 PM

It is a right decision taken in the right direction by banning the Da Vinci Code. Any such religious
provocation should be nipped in the bud before it
leads to destruction. Are we not banning the bad
which hurts the society? Whether it is minority or majority they are a part of the society. Instead of damage control it is better not to allow which brings division in the society. Anybody who does not want to believe Lord Jesus Christ let them not believe.Bible gives a clear picture about J.C. but not fiction created by man for the sake of money. God and Godly things are spiritual. Lord J.C. did not come to enjoy the things of the world. J.C.came to seek and save the sinners to reconcile with God in heaven. Death is a fact. One need to seek God for heaven and not for the things of this world. Christiandom will not cry if any body leaves Christianity as it does not work for a kingdom on earth. One will not inherit Christianity by birth but only by rebirth in spirit. One should have the quest to know about God, Heaven, sin and Hell. Bible is available to all in their own language and it dispels all the doubts.

Da Vinci Code

I am a catholic by birth and upbringing. I have read The Da Vinci Code and I honestly do not understand what all this fuss is about. I liked the way plot develops but that does not mean I have given up my religious beleifs! A book doesn't necessarily have to alter your religious beleifs. If you don't like it just don't watch it (or read it). These people are being ridiculous!!!

I dont think the movie should be banned
by shar on Jun 02, 2006 03:53 PM

I heard a comment somewhere 'I havent read the book but I was told..." etc etc. People who havent read the book or havent read any other books of Dan Brown should not offer such opinions. Having read all the books the author has ever written, I think that the author merely chooses to present in his fiction a few thought provoking questions about the religion, the origin of certain customs and certain beliefs, probably with just an intention of making it a best-seller. There is no point banning it. If some one truly believes in their religion, then they should be in a situation to justify and defend it and not merely close their eyes. There are always questions about all religions. I think one should believe it to be a way of life and not let their beliefs collapse to a movie.
