We are trying to fulfill his dream of completing his Naushad Sangeet Academy which our dad wanted to establish to promote Indian Classical music amongst the youth of India.

Through his music the late Naushad brought joy and happiness to many. Our thanks to the undisputed samrat of Indian film music. May the Giver of life grant him eternal bliss. Our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.
The era of beautiful music has now come to an end with Naushad's death. Though the present music directors like Ahsaan-Loy-Mahadevan and others are good, melodious songs like those of Naushad will no longer be there. Even today they are hummable and emotion filled.
# I had the previlege to interact with Naushad Saab, during K.L.Saigal's birthday centenary at Mumbai. During the recording of songs of 'Shahjahan', he begged, cajoled Kundan Lal to sing, without taking liquor.Saigal by then had become alcoholic and would not sing before taking his 'Patiala Peg'. # Naushad after much persuation made Saigal sing, with and without taking his fill.Songs sung by Kundan Lal without taking his peg were recorded. # Naushad Ali was the only music director, for whom, Noorjahan,Suraiya,Surendra & Saigal sang.May God rest his soul. Naushad set music for some of the all time great movies remembered for their melodious songs. Examples of such unforgettable and still very popular music movies among old movie song lovers: Baiju Bawra, Mere mehboob, Mughal-e-azam, Mother India, Uran Khatola etc.
Naushad ali was a good human being, a simple person with high values, and encouraged emerging artists who later became legends like Lata Mangeshkar and Mohd. Rafi.
May his music remain evergreen as it has been all these years and may his soul rest in peace. God Bless His soul....
It's really very sad to hear the death of Naushad Saab. With his death I think an era has come to an end.His story is an inspiration for today's Youth as how with hard work & dedication you can achieve your goal's. One more important aspect was that he never compromised in his work for getting more Films or making easy money. I think that's an important lesson for all of us. Music Directors may come & go but NAUSHAD SAAB's music will linger ON.
