So all those intellectually demented fans of a certain superhero dancing around trees need not hang around here. Just bcos its desi does not mean it should not be panned. Just bcos it's the first Bollywood super hero cannot escape the fact that its plain cliche, boring and a rip off of dozen other films.
Btw, this review is fantastic. Loads of research behind it. I hv noticed the amount of research this guy does while reviewing each movie. Kudos to Raja. Keep up the good work.
What a whooooole looooot of CRAP!! I dont think Mr. Raja Sen is an internationally acclaimed reviewer to be PAID for writing a favourable review. Which then makes me wonder...WHY???? Why on earth will he write such a review which will make people go and watch the movie!
SUPERMAN RETURNS is such a BIG disappointment! I have seen it on the very first day of its India release and can easily say that it has not lived upto my expectations! I would say KRRISH scores a whole lot more over SUPERMAN simply on entertainment value. Also, you never connect to the movie at all. The silliest thing about this movie is....SUPERMAN is shown as ffaaaar too human(due to the presense of Kryptonite or watever)....getting beaten up very badly by the baddie and not returning the favour even once throughout the movie. Mr Lex Luthor, the villain, walks away merrily in branded suits all through.
To be fair to the movie, the SFX are superb but too few a scenes for us to actually say "WOW,Thats something only superman can do!!"
One tip for the reviewer, QUIT THE JOB!! or practice writing a fair review!
Superman Returns is just good. I didnt find it to be anything more than that. This is not to say that this reviewer is wrong, just that there are many who said that batman begins was rather better.

Dear Abhay, who are you to say that superman is the childhood hero of everyone. I think he is one of the worst hero who is only shown to be powerfull no other shades except loneliness. heros like spiderman and krissh have all shades which makes story intersting. Krissh is a good attempt and it is one the best technologies which is used in hollywood also. Krissh should be appreciated. who says to shelve it should shelve his idotic mind. If you hate hindi movies so much PLEASE GO AND STAY IN US. This messge is for all those indians who live in india and hate those idotic movies like superman who have no storylines and just those idot flying stunts.
Hey, I saw Superman returns at one of the expensive multiplexes yesterday nite, the theatre was empty, guess, football fever was on & to tell you about the movie, where is the action that one associates with the movie ? I counted all in all 3 - 4 action scenes including the climax & there is nothing amazing about it. I think MI-3 is a better action movie than this one. And the trailers of Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man looked more intriging in the interval than the movie. I have seen all the 4 original Christopher Reeve's movie & in comparision -this one is a disappointment. I think that Kevin Spacey has maybe got more screen space than Brandon Routh. Visually, the movie is better with the times, but where is the emotion & the action associated with the Superman Movies, like how in the original, he rescues a kid's school bus or the railbridge or even here, we nowhere see him overtaking a speeding train, The movie is disappointing for me, would've preferred Ind-WI or maybe even Soccer
Hello Mr.sen, I find u r review to be biased to toward the film.Ths movie is ok , but not that great as u have written and about the superman franchise, i always thought the last one superman III was a dudd. when compared to the other two, that way this movie is a worthy sequel to the 2nd one.
I cant believe people are comparing Superman to Krrish. And some are acually saying that Krrish is better? well first off Superman is every childs "clean" hero unlike any other superhero the dakness element is less in superman... and the movie is great. krrish is a contrived, cliched over the top bollywood product that every girl who goes ga-ga over Hritik is going to think is great. And its no Bollywood vs Hollywood. its just that when you look at the two finished products, Krrish is one project that should have been shelved for all its contradictions, inane moments, silly and typical characterisations and for having a super hero who is anythng but that.
