Oft I have wondered if there was a time machine that can transport you back into the days that Prem Panicker talks of...where that boy in blue could do all that you ever wanted to do...be what you always wanted to be...I am counting on being in that chair....and I am counting on being transported through time.....well written Prem....well written...
Viewed it yesterday..not upto the mark of. Too few nos. of action scenes...story drags on and on without superman ( in action )in any frame..climax is also cut short without much action...all you find out is that superman is in ICU :-) .. not good

this movie has shken me by its visual effects. the superman character was played in a very decent super hero type. i recomend every one to watch it irrespective Of age

When you were writing cricket articles, you were almost the superman of journalist with your non-nonsense attitude but then suddenly why this swish!! towards movie reviews. I may have missed your earlier reviews but gy gaar, plz do not write movie reviews. I will tell you where you went wrong. There is nothing wrong in re-inventing a movie, you forgot who your audience were. There are probably only new borns on this earth who does not know who christopher Reeve was. Second, Superman and Krrish is not about great action in emotion. It is about stunts and the human expression in body that is generated. Rediff critics have got it totally wrong to portray these charecters in correct light. Instead of teaching our youngsters that a human needs to challenge his limits, we write off movies like those mentioned above as a mere characters. Most great writers said "Superman is not about all powers but inspite of powers, how they struggled to be human, and how they struggled to save the human race and yet, left no stone unturned to be there for their loved ones. Thats the greatness of humanity." I am eagerly awaiting superman for its sheer history. Not to see someone reinvent the wheel.
The movie Starts with a bang and ends with a douse.I Had been to the premiere last night .The movie goes on for more than two hour .Was Awe-struck only once ,during the air crash scene .Was a meticulous work and amazing piece of special effect ,as said by hrithik the money spent on the entire movie "krrish" is same as that spent on the airplane crash sequence in "Supeman returns" ,you can see the enormity of the superman project.Well the movie is not so gripping .The second half makes you lose interest .Its the same old story ,good man kills evil man and saves the world .I would give 1.5 out of 5 on rating .Background score is impeccable.On second thoughts "Aparichit " was more gripping then superman.
This Superman movie seems to be the most over-hyped movie of the ages. Well, Prem, thanks for this review. It has been getting rather tiresome otherwise to read of Indian 'critics' going ga-ga over it. At least your review seems like an observation. And yes, half the wonder in watching the movie would be due to the history, when we believed that there were good people who could move mountain and earth and now space to beat the bad guys. And the other half in the special effects. But that does not excuse the fact that Brandon Routh looks too young to be Superman. Superman is supposed to have seen a lot of evil, its normal to assume that he would have contemplated a lot about evil. How then can he have such a naïve and innocent look. Even as Clark Kent, he is a journalist, how can Kent look naïve and innocent.
But perhaps, when we want to believe, we will believe anything.
One question? Is Superman, that ultimate hero defending the American Way of Life, God now?
Uhh, gee, thanks for the out-of-style cynicism Prem. It's a comic-book for heaven's sakes, show some sense and learn about suspension of disbelief, which is what summer blockbusters are all about. Two thumbs down on your review, Prem.

Yes Prem I agree with the previous comment Please see a "movie" as a movie- Dont expect "reality" in superman and batman movies. I like your cricket reviews but you stretched it a bit this time..
