I saw this movie yesterday. I never go out to see any Hindi movies. The last Hindi movie I saw was 8 years ago. I can not tell you what I feel about this movie.

Hollywood may have an Universal presence only because English is an Universal language and Hindi is spoken only in a very few countries as compared to English, but the only Film industry that has made it presence felt other than Hollywood is Bollywood. So cheer up and hope for the best!

Indian cinema is not about Bollywood
by Cinemalover on Jun 16, 2006 12:23 AM  | Hide replies

First of all, Bollywood by itself doesn\\\'t make Indian cinema. This is a common misnomer, and if you want to really showcase the strengths of Indian cinema, there are some wonderful movies made in Bengal and Malayalam. First, we can never dream of making the big budget extravaganza that Hollywood produces because they have such a big market. Second, songs and dances are a part of Indian culture so that is totally a unique realm and a different field to debate about. In terms of \\\'quality\\\' of movies, India has produced movies that match up to Hollywood standards. Watch the movies made by Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, Shyam Benegal, K. Vishvanath, Manirathnam, Bala, Adoor Gopalakrishnan et. al and then you will understand what I talk about. If you don\\\'t, then \\\'Ignorance is bliss!\\\'

Basic premise from Book...
by VInay Advani on Jun 13, 2006 02:17 PM

When KMG came out, there were murmurs of how the same had similarities to Forrest Gump. Forrest Gump was originally a book by Winston Groom. He had also written a sequel (Gump & Co.) where the son of Forrest Gump is a genius child. Rakesh Roshan sure knows how to pick obscure stories and then call similarities as coincidences or divine intervention!!!!

Bollywood just copy from Hollywood even name.
by Rohit on Jun 13, 2006 12:15 PM

Bollywood movies stand nowhere against Hollywood movies.Just one movie Titanic earned more money than all the movies of Bollywood would earn in 5 years. Also Bollywood movies are copy of Hollywood.bollywood tries to copy hollywood or American culture, language all. That is why Bollywood movies are watched only in third world countries, and in Developed world only Indians living there watch these movies. If Bollywood really want to compete with Hollywood than produce something original and please for God's sake produce movies whose theme is not based on love.in bollywood 95% movies are made on love and nothing else, even Gadar that was about partition of India they put a love story.

We are the best
by dk on Jun 13, 2006 12:03 PM

I said this because our industry gives all types of movies not just one genre like others. And inspite of the fact that most movies of HR have flopped he is a very good actor. I am waiting for Krrish to release.
