A Rs 5000 fine is ridiculous - with such paltry fines and lenient sentences (one-year suspended), which VVIP celeb wouldn't want to go shoot some endangered species to gloat and boast of their daring anti-establishment misadvantures at their VVVIP meets. If perhaps, the court wanted to be lenient regarding a jail-term, then Salman should have been required to do community service such AIDS or Family Planning awareness campaigns in the slum areas etc., in additiion to paying an exhorbitantly hefty fine. The super-rich and public entertainment 'idols' should not be allowed to break the laws with such impunity - how would it look?

Bimbi..I think maybe you should leave your geographical prejudices aside and try talking sense. Its quite obvious that you have a highly opinionated view of the world. Try injecting yourself with 5cc of education

You must be a south Indian or a person who is lacking self confidence. Salman Khan is Legend and he will not go to Jail. Government should concentrate on provding shelter to people than to target celbrities for these issues. You also need to grow up. Sorry mate...
