Discounting the fact that people traveling from Mumbai to LA would fly due east rather than Mumbai-Boston-LA, this was a refreshingly different story and gives the movie a more universal appeal rather than being a regular bollywood fare.
Just watch the film for cenimatic experience. Very well made film. Instead of 4 stories he should have gone for 2 stories. Again konkana sen rocks in the movie.great surprising climax. Also great debut for naseer's son he has delivered a great spontaneous performance. As for the other stars they all are seasoned actors. They are great.
if i forget who the director is, then i would say that this is a fabulous debut. why should i then spoil the fun by remembering this is directed by naseeruddin shah?
yes, the script, dialogue and dubbing all needed some more work. raja is one very competent critic (at least in technicality) that i have come across. but the tying up of 4 stories to one ending was not easy. and it was done resonably well. while the performers were all very good, one has to attribute some credit to the debutant director.
however, it must be said that the original (?) script is better than the final product. perhaps shah overestimated himself a bit.
i was happy to see the movie and look forward to naseer maturing in coming days.
my rating? it will be just one notch higher - 3 stars.
Dear All, This movie is definitely unique in its story, content and presentation. The acting by all the actors is superb, specially Paresh Rawal, Irfan Khan and Konkana Sen.I think we should compliment Naseeruddin Shah for his maiden directorial effort. I completely disagree with the review. It certainly deserved a better rating. I do not know the background of Mr.Raja Sen but it does also seems the writer has little understanding about good, average and bad cinema. The movie is much, much better than crap stuff we are being bombarded week after week.
as if havent gone to see that movie to bahut acha hota.dont know what nasseer has tried to make. ending was obnoxious absolutetly. more of a play than movie.................
I think the view given in the article is completely wrong. The writer has no taste for off commercial movies and expected it to be one of those "behid the tree types."
I think the movie was just fabulous. All the characters were amazing and its beautifully directed . It leaves a lasting effect on audience. Its definitely a must watch for all the off beat movie lovers.
