Hi All, I happened to watch the serials directed by Kavitha on Malgudi, surely the efforts have paid off but i think fairly we should stop comparing the old one & the new one..the result is all there to see.. When you see the old serials directed by Veteran Shankar Nag you get that classy look..When you see the serials directed by Kavitha you get the rich & modern look...still they 2 different generations..no comparing...after all Malgudi is Malgudi...good old village town..hmmm hats off this is one serial which will remain in my memory till i die...

Hello Mr Ramanujam Srivathsan, i am Ananth Bhat here,i was going through the net searching for sites from where i could buy CDs/DVDs of MALGUDI DAYS & that's when i stumbled upon this post of yours.I am very keen on collecting serials such as malgudi days, that aired on DD.It brings back good old memories.I request you to provide me info regarding new episodes of MALGUDI DAYS that have been shot by Kavitha lankesh.Could you please tell me on which TV channel did you get to watch them & at what time are they aired ?, or where did you purchase DVDs/CDs of her production? I would be extremely thankful to you if you could provide me the info. Also i would be thankful to you if you could mail the info to my ID - ananthbhats@gmail.com Thanking you Ananth Bhat
Music for Malgudi Days was composed by the eldest of the 'Violin Trio', comprising L Vaidyanathan and his younger brothers L Shankar and L Subramanian, the last one being, of course, the most famous of them all. LV died in 2007. By the way, his work for Malgudi was really the lesser known as compared to several films in different languages of which the musical score was his. [There is at least one more website which gives the wrong initials for the true composer for Malgudi. TS Vaidyanathan is a Sanskrit Pandit who has made some recordings for Vedic chants.]
