Wonderful music....among the finest this year..... Soulful melodies from Vishal Bhardwaj..who is undoubtedly a fine talent...both as a director and music director. Vishal definitely needs to be applauded for his effort. The title song is sung with great gusto by sukhwinder and is a sure shot hit with the masses too. Check out for a sukhwinder nomination at next year's awards. Rekha bhardwaj (is she related to Vishal???) raw and earthy voice makes 'Namak' and 'Lakad' , both different in feel nice to hear. 'O saathi Re' (which was another choice for the movie title) is soft soothing number sung by shreya and vishal. Unlike many other music directors, he has a good voice too, yet he doesn't used it for many more songs and lets the other singers who are better to do it. Rahet fateh ali khan is good as usual in 'Naina'. Another popular number would be 'Beedi' which inspite of having a massy appeal is still so much fun to listen to. Sunidhi and sukhwinder do a good job again. Finally, to see Suresh wadkar after a long time, its a treat....and his song 'jag ja' is so soothing, subtle and heartfelt. All in all though 2-3 songs could be chartbusters, all are great ditties. kudos!!!
The best I can say....Gulzar lyrics are perfect...N Vishal has done full justice to such beautifull songs....they definetly remind you of the MAACHIS...(Gluzar's N Vishal's 1st combination).....Naina...lakaad...r the best...they make you to think....:)
The best album of the year from one of the most underrated composer of our times. Wish we could get to listen to Vishal bharadwaj a lot more...but i guess its a tall order for someone who makes equally great movies - A master in the making.
I dont understand this approach.yerterday only I read in one of the rediff review that the music is OK and you wont miss anything if you dont listen to it.Now today , some creative guy listen it carefully again and thought of writing all over again.
One piece of advice for you smart rediff people.
" DO YOUR HOME WORK CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU WRITE ANYTHING".
