The question is NOT about Bollywood (?) though !! The article might be about the Hindi film industry.

Shashank,
I have read the article. Eventhough they started it with "The Bolloywood..", question is not precissily about "Bollywood". At the the bottow of the article, they asked " Who is the best comic actor today?" . So my vote still goes to Jagathy Sreekumar from Malayalam .

I respect your fondness for Malayalam cinema but...they are asking about Bollywood...you haven't read the article properly. The first line itself says 'Bollywood'...
i think all r forgetting jonny lever.. he is the one and the only actor in the film industry who can make u laugh without even saying dialouges..."his expressions talk" paresh is going by the flow here.. he is not all time great.. but when it comes to genuine comedy.. its "the one" "the only" "JONNY BHAI"

Riteish Deshmukh does a good job - KKHH and Bluffmaster are cases in point. The guy has HUGE potential. Rajpal Yadav is becoming another Johnny Lever. Paresh Rawal is ubercool funny but he too is getting repititive. Akshay Kumar is quite cool too but he too is getting a tad too repititive.
Amitabh Bachhan is the best comedian that Indian cinema has produced to date! even in his serious 'angry young man' roles, Bachhan's performances are so rib-ticklingly hilarious, he should be given the no.1 slot for comedy. And of late, his expressions in the advts in which he (pretends to)'act' are uncontrollably funny (remember 'Pappu pass ho gaya'), as are his performances in cinema, he should be rightfully given the best (on and offscreen)comedian award! Noone else dare compete with him!
