fight club-just ok timepass
by kaushik thakurata on Mar 02, 2006 07:16 PM

surprisingly in the movie all bad guys acted too well and the good one just average.surprisingly in the movie, yash tonk overshadowed all his more famous counterparts.susuprisingly in the movie songs are not so catchy like other usual action potboilers.
overall it is a average kind of timepass to see fight club.apart from yash, ashmit patel looks good and performed well.suniel shetty and rahul dev both are usual.ashish chowdhury manages the comic job with at ease.dino and amrita shows lots of skin.diya is completely wasted.its astonishing to see neha dhupia in a miniscual role.action sequences are sometimes encouraging, sometimes boring.zayed and sohail looks good......but if they acts...........

Fight Club is not a straight pick from the Hollywood movie
by A Filmgoer on Feb 23, 2006 07:58 PM  | Hide replies

I seriously doubt if the reviewer has seen the original hollywood Fight Club.

That movie is one of my favorite movies as well and hence I remember it scene by scene. The bollywood Fight Club has nothing in common with the holly flick except the title, the existance of a club and the left hand rule.

Rediff.com, please see that your employees dont fool the public because of their ignorance. We expect much better quality from your reviews.

I personally felt that the movie is nothing but a piece of crap with very bad direction, but you cant just take the credit out of Vikram Chopra by saying that the story is not his own.

Thanks

Get your facts right
by Mitesh on Feb 21, 2006 07:14 PM

It pains me no end to see a reviewer for a renowned portal like rediff not get his facts right. My friend here claims that the Hollywood Fight Club is his favourite movie and this one a 'shamelessly copied one'. Well, sorry to mention but there is nothing in common apart from the title. The Edward Norton starrer is a thriller with a twist (spoiler:split personality). The only thing split about the hindi version is the script.

by aditya on Feb 21, 2006 06:20 PM

you got to accpet it....sohail khan has a never die attitude....he has proved again n again that he cant act n still he tries to !!! with fight club he has tried his luck a bit too far n decided to produce it !! n we shud never forget that he has directed a few duds too(ok PKTDKwas a hit)....if ever there was an award for the most versatile personality in bollywood....it has to go to SOHAIKL KHAN....producer director n actor.....waiting for him to turn to composing music now....or may be singing !!!

the review is flawed
by Shan on Feb 20, 2006 05:38 PM  | Hide replies

Well something wrong with the review.
The reviewer has definitely not seen the Brad Pitt movie with the same name. The story line is entirely different & there is no similarity except the title.

I accept the hindi movie is bad but its english namesake was an utter crap.

The hindi one you can still sit for 2+ hours, the english one was untolerable for even half

I am Jack's Lack of Comprehension aka RE:the review is flawed

Dude...

Fight Club (the fincher flick) is one of the dvds my wife and i keep right next to the TV ... we never tire of watching it..

Chuck Palaniuk (hope i go the spelling right.. might have missed an h or two) the guy who wrote the original novel "Fight Club" wrote it in such a complex fashion that I just watch the movie for having successfully (in my opinion) captured at least 70-80% of the byzantine plot.

Do not despair... if you ever watch the movie on DVD again... watch for flashes of Brad Pitt in frames even before his character is actually introduced... for example... when Edward Norton is coming out of the doctor's office for the first time and next when Ed norton is saying how his job involves a lot of travel and you can catch a 2 frame flash of brad pitt going the other way on the automatic walker / escalator...

:)

Thanks for the hones reviews
by SS on Feb 19, 2006 03:41 PM

I want to thank rediff for bringing unbiased reviews. I personally believe indian film industry is going through its worst phase ever, even the late 80's weren't this bad. It seems a bunch of sorry face producer/director/actor sons and daughters have taken over the film industry, but what's even more distressing is the fact not only films like "Fight club" are made but that they get viewers at all !!!

I hope the indian fim industry comes out of its slump and bollywood produces movies like "Jaane bhi do yaroon" and "Anand".

Fight club what the heck!!!!!
by Asad Aftab, ILS Law College, Pune on Feb 18, 2006 10:03 PM

Today i saw Fight Club and I couldn't think of a reason and mind me i had no clue why those guys were fighting throughout the movie for no reason at all. What was the purpose behind making such(k) a movie? Well probably people should pick a fight with anyone they want and sweat it out somewhere. Well if smoking and riding horses(use of animals) is banned in India why not ban such a fighter(pun intended) movie which is not only so difficult to digest but also a waste of money. Is Maneka Gandhi listening?
