I am in shock for a reason that is totally different altogether! It took the courts 8 years to come to a conclusion on a case of this magnitude? I understand thorough investigations take time; but, 8 years of deliberations is unfathomable for a misdemeanor of this sort (it doesn\'t matter who is involved in the incident).
Everyone is innocent until proven guilty; and all guilty should be punished no matter who they are!
What the hell Mr. Firdaus is talking about. Mr Salman fed up with his victimization, actually we are fed up with how Bollywood's most arrogant and powerful get away with law. No wonder Bollywood is shocked, all they care about is how much money is at stake with this. As far as Salman's talk about quick justice is concerned, Mr Firdaus conveniently forgets to mention that it was he who was absent from most of the hearings that led to late judgement. What about the man on pavement he killed, seventeen days in prison for that uptill now. Should get a lifeterm for that.
Wondering in India, people talking about "Law" great!!!!! I think people need some education with regards to Law in India. The same law failed to punish Shivshena, VHP and BJP leaders during killing of innocent people in Mumbai, Babri mosque demolition, and on the top of all Gujarat riots. All leaders involved weren't even arrested. There are millions of cases if you look in history where law didnt do its job because or corruption and money power.
I am confident he will be back clean. Salman, wish you all the best.
Whosoever he may be. law is one. every one has to bow his head if they want to live. if not anarchy. Whether bollywood, jollywood or hollywood all woods are to burn before law. So no regrets . Desrves the punsihment. Should accept gracefully.
No sensible person can ever believe that Salman is innocent in all three cases. Nor was Sanjay Dutt (drugs case/links with mafias/illegal weapons) or Fardeen Khan(drugs case). They were all alleged for indulging in Anti-social, Unlawful or Anti-national activities and must not go unpunished. Let the law perform its course. Bollywood audiences should boycott them rather than encouraging them by making their post-crime films hit.
i think that the poor guy does not deserve this punishment, maybe the court should have directed him to offer his services towards making the law particularly the wild life act better known to the public at large & perhaps he also could have been asked to perform some public / community service. i agree no one is above the law but there are times when other considerations should also be taken into account.the maximum sentence for this supposed crime is three years + 25,000 fine , so when the judge can sentence him to one year + 5,000 fine , he perhaps could also have thought on the lines above ........ actually the entire judicial system needs to be reviewed , frankly right now its the pits.
All the Bollywood personalities making insinuations against the judiciary ("This is ridiculous" kind of statements) should be tried for contempt of court.
