A well taken movie but it lacks in substance. What ever may be the reason for it, the story could've been told more bravely. Beautiful locales, good dialogues, good performances by the talib, the driver n jai apart from that there isnt much in it. While its all done well, I still cant imagine arguing for kapilpaji or some more sillier jokes at the gun point of a terrorist/militant. But I definitely dont have the opinion of an old man whom I heard after the movie saying "yaar Yashraj bilkul paagal hogaya hai yaar".
Three stars is just not enough. The film is much better than stated. Not just because I star in the film but because Kabirji has done an exceptional job.Infact all the departments have been at their best.
I cannot really thank enough the Yashraj banner for this is the first time that I am getting out of the Gen.Musharraf Look that shot me to fame two years ago. Yes. I play the Pakistani soldier instead of my regular look of Gen.Musharraf. Thanks to the beard that I had grown out of frustration.
> Kabul Express should have had the look of Omkara. Ewww!!! What pre-meditated notions that the reviewer has.
Two things. One; The films pre-dominant treatment is not grave. Infact, it is a non brainier to spot that creator has taken quite a bit of effort to tone down the emphasis on socio-political situations at Afghanistan and to take a more light-hearted path. Will you argue, "Life is Beautiful" should have look and feel of "Schindler's List"? Second; The purpose of the visuals are to drive the story forward. If it hampers the narration, a reviewer has every right to point it out. But if not, then please respect the creators artistic and aesthetic freedom.
Please keep the politics out of it. D journo makes it look like the director was paid by Pakistan to make a film showing a Pakistani Taliban fighter as more of a victim as opposed to a horrible fanatic monster who wouldn't blink before shooting a woman in head in the name of Jihad or blowing up a bus full of kids for a similar cause in the name of Allah. If the journo has problems with U.S. selling coke and Pepsi, he should well remind himself that the technology he used to post his article on the internet is also American!!!
Absolutely correct, the author has put in his personal opinion in the review. The article has political overtones labelling america as a "superpower running amok". So my dear friend .. Taliban running amok was better than US running amok? Is it? ... and dont forget Taliban was a buffer force against our country.
Give us a break, next time keep your opinions out of the review and state the plot ONLY.
