Babul is not all that good please!!

Well this review only proves that people wud just say anything so that they are read....just because AB is in these days, his Baghbaan was accepted as one of the most sensitive movies of previous year, and Babul has the subject of widow-remarriage doesnt mean we, as an audience should go around saying "its a good movie man, one should go and watch it and cry & feel for the father". Bull****. its not a good movie, not someone like AB and Rani shud be proud of, Salman doesnt care what happens to it and John was just there for the sake of it. All in all it was just a bad movie. Tottally out of date. Completely cliched dialouges. Absolutely insensiive screenplay. And the actual scenes---Oh my god! Lemme tell u i m a complete 'FAN' of AB n of Bollywood as a whole, but im not a dumb fan. I hav been watching movies since i was 3 and i can make out what has gone into making of a movie, and it was quite clear that these ppl ( film crew ) just thot the way Baghbaan worked so will Babul! But hey thats not the case, its not even worth a single watch! Ppl were actually laughin and clappin at emotional scenes.
Dont believe me->Ask anyone at the 1st Sat-nit show at E sqr, Pune and u will know!

Whether this issue arises in the 60's or today, our indian community still takes back seat when it comes to moving forward in terms of the subject. This is a refreshing movie for those indians born & brought up in the western culture. Even in this day & age new brides are concerned about living with their in-laws, and in this movie to see a father-in-law wanting to re-marry his late son's wife, is really nuturing. It is what every bride & groom expect from from their in-laws, it is love of not being seperate from their own children, but an addition to the family as Amitbah shows in this movie. It was hard to comtemplate that there is still this sterotype against women re-marrying after divorce and more specifically widowhood. Have indians become so dumb to these issues that they believe that a movie is just about entertainment, what happened to the morals you recieve from these movies. What is pathetic, is that fact that most mover goers detach themselves from what can be learned for "SOME" movies. It would be nice to see a movie about a man being judged on his right to re-marry.
Why is it that women are condemned for this and not our male counterparts.
Anyways these are the views that us australian indians learn from such a movie. IT WAS FABULOUS.

Babul is a great movie. I think Bavre Piya by Sonu Nigam will be the song of the year.

Well, I enjoyed reading the review by Sukanya with her mom(or was it with her daughter?!!!)...Anyways,I appreciate them for bringing in different perspectives of this issue.Widow marriage is not an outdated topic where India is concerned. But what they said was right, why does it need some third party instigation for this act? They should focus on the widow's needs and desires. I guess the movie Dor projects these sentiments better though its subject is not the same.
